Harry Reid Sets Sights on Koch Brothers

Harry Reid, Democratic Senator from Nevada, is targeting Charles and David Koch. The 74-year-old lawmaker has mentioned the brothers at least 134 times during speeches from the Senate floor.

Reid announced he will bring a constitutional amendment to Congress, aimed at limiting political donations.

The Senator appears to be crafting the bill to specifically target the pair.

Reid said, “The Koch Brothers, I’m not walking away from them. I’m going to be on their tail for the whole campaign because if they think Romney was watched closely by me, that’s nothing compared to what it’s going to be like with the Koch Brothers.”

Reid admits to taking corporate donations in 1998, during his campaign against John Ensign. He stated that campaign finance reform sponsored by fellow Nevada Senator helped cleanse him of guilty feelings.

Reid stated, “I felt so clean and pure with McCain-Feingold, which had come into being, it was wonderful. We were back where we should have been.”

The Senator told reporters he will push for the bill, and try to bring the measure for a full vote.

A new film called “Koch Brothers Exposed” is billed as an expose on the brothers.

Despite opposition to the siblings from many Democrats, the pair are playing a large role in gaining marriage equality for same-sex couples across the nation.
