Human rights: Mullah’s Achilles Heel

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

For those supporting the recent nuclear deal signed between the P5+1 and Iran and those rushing to Tehran to sign lucrative deals with the mullahs’ regime, please take a moment and read the following:

“For the second time this week, Iran’s fundamentalist regime has amputated the hand and foot of a prisoner.Authorities in a prison in Mashhad, northeast Iran, on Tuesday amputated the right hand and left foot of Mehdi R. as other prisoners were forced to watch.

The sentenced was carried out one day after another man, identified only as Rahman K., had his right hand and left foot severed by the authorities in the same prison, the state-run daily Shahr Ara wrote on Wednesday.

Both men were accused by the regime of committing a bank heist and were pronounced by the authorities to be “moharebeh,” or “waging war on God.”

According to the state-run daily Khorasan both men will continue to serve an extended prison sentence as well.”

This is the true face of Iran under the “moderate” Hassan Rouhani, the president of the mullahs’ regime who made many promises, enlightened hopes in some people, but has only stuck to his word on one matter: protecting the mullahs’ rule – as seen in this horrific act of crackdown aimed at cementing a climate of fear inside Iran – and executing over 1,800 people during his two year tenure.

One thing is for certain: following the Vienna pact signed on July 14th the mullahs sitting on the thrown in Tehran are bent on reminding everyone inside the country to not be mistaken at all and there will be no remorse or any ease at all on the human rights situation on the ground in Iran. And they will go the distance to guarantee that everyone understands this loud and clear, no matter how harsh the criticism. Of course, with European firms thirsty for economic trade deals with Iran, rest assured that their respective governments won’t be making any noise about the Iranian regime’s atrocities and gross human rights violations.

Understanding this weakness in the West perfectly well, the Iranian regime’s judiciary officials have dared to even publicly defended limb amputations, eye gouging, and even stoning to death as a very real part of their judicial law.

Mohammad-Javad Larijani, the head of the Iranian regime’s ‘Human Rights Council’, said on April 10, 2014: “The problem is that the West does not understand that Qisas (law of retribution) is different from execution. We are not ashamed of stoning or any of the Islamic decrees.” (The issue is not that the West doesn’t understand; of course they do. The point is that that oil money is too tempting and they merely turn their backs.)

In May 2015, a high ranking Iranian cleric, who is the representative of the regime’s Supreme Leader in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), called for more inhumane punishments of hand amputations to be carried out.

“If the hands of a few of those who commit theft in society are cut off, they would serve as examples for others and security will be restored,” said Ghulam-Ali Naeem Abadi while visiting Mashhad.

“Security would be restored in society by amputating a few fingers; why then are such punishments not being fully implemented?” he asked.

(This is where in the movies they say, “I rest my case”.)

Last December, the United Nations General Assembly slammed Iran’s flagrant human rights violations. The resolution criticized the regime’s use of inhuman punishments, including flogging and amputations. The UN’s 61st resolution on human rights abuses in Iran also censured the mullahs’ dictatorship for the rise in executions, public hangings and the execution of juveniles.

The opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran, enjoying support in the US and Europe, has repeatedly condemned the medieval punishments carried out by the clerical regime in Iran and has called for the referral of the regime’s appalling human rights record to the UN Security Council.

Rest assured that if the Iranian regime sees actual resolve from the West on its human rights dossier, it will first make a big fuss about everything, but in the end the mullahs will rush begging and willing to pay any price for them to let go of their Achilles Heel.
