Three reasons why Rouhani must be kicked out of NY

Although there are many reasons why Iran president Hassan Rouhani should literally be kicked out of New York and not allowed to take part in the United Nations General Assembly, this piece will focus on three issues that are less talked about these days as the nuclear agreement between the P5+1 and Tehran have blinded the media’s eyes about the atrocities taking place inside Iran.​

The heart of the Iranian regime’s theocratic rule is none other than misogyny, and while Rouhani may have appointed a woman in his cabinet, the real story on the ground in Iran is nothing but brutal crackdown of Iranian women. Just imagine women being fined $260 for not properly wearing their headscarves! While this may seem ridiculous in the 21^st century, it is the sheer cold reality in Iran as women are forced to abide by a strict “Islamic” dress code that make conditions very harsh and is anything but Islamic. True Islam is far from anything preached by the ruthless mullahs ruling Iran.
The execution of women is also horrifying. We all remember how in defiance of international appeals the Iranian regime executed 26-year old Reyhaneh Jabbari who killed an intelligence agent in self-defense as he intended to rape her. Amnesty International described her hanging as ‘another bloody stain on Iran’s human rights record.” But unfortunately, Western governments could care less.

Iran is also listed as one of the 10 worst countries persecuting Christians on their soil. Numerous Christian priests are detained behind bars for simply advocating their beliefs. Saeed Abedini is an Iranian-American Christian pastor held in jail since the summer of 2012 for the sole reason of practicing his faith. This is yet another method of how the mullahs in Iran have tainted the sacred image of Islam because true Islam respects all faiths and allows all people to practice their beliefs free of any persecution.

Iran is also considered and described by many organizations as the largest prison for journalists in the Middle East. Rest assured that under Rouhani this regime has the potential of ranking itself as the main persecutor of reporters, journalists, bloggers, netizens and the likes because one thing the Iranian regime cannot tolerate is criticism in the free press. One should not be fooled by the state-run press going at each other, because it is all simply state-run and aimed at deceiving observers inside and abroad.

The real struggle in Iran is between the people and the resistance on one hand, and the mullahs’ regime on the other. One stage depicting this bitter battle is the New York rally staged by Iranian dissidents from all over the globe protesting Rouhani’s presence in the Big Apple.
