US companies must refrain from funding Iran

The ink on the July 14^th nuclear accord between the P5+1 and Iran has yet to dry and already there are warnings being issued to American companies that may seek to do business with the fanatic and theocratic regime sitting on the throne in Tehran. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that such money would go straight to the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force, and after all these years there is also no reservation about the true nature of the Quds Force.

Led by the notorious Qassem Suleimani – described by many as the ghost figure behind all of Iran’s meddling in the Middle East and most probably beyond – the Quds Force is behind all the carnage we are currently witnessing in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and the decades of unrest in Lebanon and Palestine. There is no question that Iran is the leading state sponsor and central banker of international terrorism. So logically, this money will not be spent on housing projects, schools, hospitals, or rather anything that might be in the interest of the Iranian people, while over 90% of the population is living under the poverty line these days.

Americans who develop a business in Iran will not see even a single penny they pay in fees to the government going to help the poor, or the 70 percent-plus of Iranians in their teens and 20s who are unemployed, or the teachers who haven’t been paid in six months. Could you ever imagine not receiving a paycheck for 6 months? That is the reality in Iran under the mullahs’ regime, and the government of Hassan Rouhani that the West so foolishly describes as moderate.

On Suleimani, who will receive the funds that may flow to Iran, Senator John McCain, Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee describes him as “a cold-blooded killer” for overseeing the production of armor-piercing bullets and lethal improvised explosive devices that have killed more than 500 US Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Rest assured that the figure is much higher and the US government is refusing to admit to that due to its appeasement policy vis-à-vis Iran).

The Quds Force, enhanced with an influx of money after the nuclear pact, will provide even greater assistance to the terrorist clients that Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the regime already provide support to: Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis who toppled the government in Yemen, and Bashar Assad’s murderous regime in Syria, which has forced tens of thousands to flee to Europe after already killing over 300,000 and displacing millions accounting to nearly half the country.

Don’t rush to Tehran is the best advice for US and European companies. Instead, provide help for the Iranian opposition to help secure a better future for Iran that is worth investing in.
