Aleppo Governor: Signs of Victory Imminent Now

Governor of Aleppo province Mohammad Marwan Olabi underlined that the terrorists and their supporters have failed to reach their goals in Syria, and the early signs of eventual victory can be seen now.

“The terrorists and their advocates seek to destroy Syria and the resistance pivot but after four years, the Syrian nation is still resisting and signs of the Syrian army’s victory have appeared now,” Olabi told the Iran-based Arabic-language al-Alam news website on Wednesday.

“Aleppo has been attacked by missiles and mortar shells from all sides but given the Syrian army’s victories, these attacks will end soon,” he added.

Asked about the reason for such massive terrorist attacks against Aleppo, Olabi said the province is Syria’s trade center, and Turkey plotted destruction of its infrastructures and manufacturing plants to omit a major rival for the Turkish products in the international market.

The Syrian government forces’ eye-catching advances in different parts of Aleppo province and the heavy bombardments done by the Syrian warplanes have forced the militant groups to start pulling back forces and fleeing the battlefields to evade more casualties, provincial sources said Tuesday.

“The Syrian army troops and the National Defense Forces (NDF), backed up by the country’s fighter jets, have continued to crush the militants in different villages and towns across Aleppo to capture more territories from the terrorist groups,” the sources said.

“The militant groups, who have witnessed the heavy attacks of the Syrian forces and the collapse of their defense lines, have started to withdraw from more territories,” the sources said.

Earlier reports said that the Syrian army, alongside the country’s popular forces, still continues marching on militants’ positions in the Eastern part of Aleppo province.

“The Syrian government forces drove the militants back from more lands near Nejjarah village in the Eastern part of Aleppo province, after hours of fierce battle overnight,” the army said.

“The arm and the NDF took full control over the entire fortified positions and trenches of the militant groups near Nejjarah after killing and wounding scores of the terrorist in the battlefield both on Monday and Tuesday,” the army added.

EXCLUSIVE: ISIL Troops Hunted in Iraqi Army Ambush Near Ramadi

The Iraqi security forces in a successful ambush operation aborted ISIL’s imminent attack on a strategic chemical factory near the city of Samarra and in the Northern parts of the city of Ramadi.

The ISIL terrorists planned to penetrate into Al-Mothana factory 40 kilometers to the West of Samarra, but they were ambushed by the security forces before they could reach the plant.

The Iraqi forces killed tens of the Takfiri terrorists and seized several of their armored vehicles during several hours of fierce clashes.

Al-Mosana chemical factory was used for producing poisonous chemicals like mustard and sarin gases.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi army and volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) continue their advances in Ramadi after taking control of the central parts of the city and defeating the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

The Iraqi troops purged Ramadi’s market, a clinic, al-Salieh and al-Jamieh regions in the Northern parts of the city near the governmental buildings.

On Monday evening, the Iraqi forces managed to retake Al-Jazira bridge from the terrorists in the Northern part of the city and continue their advances in the Eastern and the Western parts of the city.

On Sunday, Commander of Iraq’s counter-terrorism contingent said that parts of the Iraqi city of Ramadi, remaining under the control of the ISIL should be fully liberated in four to five days.

Parts of the Iraqi city of Ramadi, remaining under the control of the ISIL militant group, should be fully liberated in four to five days, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Ghani Asadi, commander of Iraq’s anti-terrorism contingent.

“Few areas of Ramadi are still controlled by the ISIL, they will soon be liberated. We will establish full control over Ramadi in four to five days,” Asadi said.

According to the commander, after Ramadi is freed from the ISIL militants, the Iraqi army will start liberating the city of Fallujah in the Anbar province.

The Iraqi army will also need to receive the corresponding order from Supreme Commander Haider Abadi, the country’s prime minister, to proceed with the operation in Fallujah, Asadi added.

“The area surrounding Fallujah is under siege, which allows for attacks on the ISIL militants there,” Asadi said.
