Hillary Jumps the Gun Forcing Charlotte’s Mayor Roberts to Plea for Hillary to Wait
Hillary Clinton was too eager to swoop into Charlotte to “reach out to Black Lives Matter protesters and the law enforcement community” and make everything all better or something. Hillary announced that she would visit Charlotte Sunday, but apparently didn’t even think to ask the good folks in charge of trying to quell the disorder following the police killing of Keith Lamont Scott.
Hillary’s impudent scheduling forced Charlotte’s Democrat Mayor Jennifer Roberts to issue a plea on national TV asking Hillary to hold off, and telling Hillary that they are a little too busy at the moment to deal with a Clinton visit:
“What I want to say is that we appreciate the support of candidates, we appreciate that they are concerned about Charlotte,” Roberts told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Friday. “At this point we do have very stressed resources for security. And they are working, you know, around the clock. If there would be a way to delay those visits in terms of giving us a chance to get our city back to order and back to more of a state of normalcy, that would probably be ideal.”
“We really appreciate their support. We appreciate the nation’s support,” she continued. “Our hearts are heavy here today with what’s going on. And again, we hope that they could figure out a way to come a little bit later.”
Team Clinton took the hint and announced Hillary will delay the visit for more than a week.
