Senator Joni Ernst Would Appreciate Trump Spending More Time In WH, Less At Mar-a-Lago

Not the first time this has been brought up.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is speaking up for herself and others in the Senate, when she suggests that maybe the president should spend more time in the White House and less time vacationing, especially since he’s not even at 100 days in office, yet.

Said Ernst:

“I do wish he would spend more time in Washington, D.C.,” Ernst said during a town hall meeting. “That’s what we have the White House for.”

“I think that has been bothering not just me but some other members of our caucus,” Ernst said of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago trips.

Out of 13 weeks in office, Trump has spent 7 of those weekends in Florida, playing golf and entertaining at his Palm Beach resort, Mar-a-Lago.

He’s also taken time away at his New Jersey resort.

In short, he’s still getting used to the job and he’s spent more time away than actually in the office.

The price tag attached to his jaunts is getting pretty crazy.

So far, he’s a bit over the $20 million mark. If he keeps up the same pace that he’s been on, people can stop talking about the Obamas’ extravagant lifestyle, made possible by the tax dollars of American citizens. In his first year, Trump will have surpassed Obama’s entire 8 years of taxpayer funded romps.

Trump has done business, while on his trips to Mar-a-Lago.

For example, he informed Chinese President Xi Jinping of the missile strike in Syria over “the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake.”

He earlier discussed a North Korean missile launch with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in full view of club guests and wait staff.

Basically, anyone that ever slammed Obama for his excessive trips as president should be equally slamming Trump now, lest you be labeled a hypocrite.

That includes Trump, himself.
