Trump’s Million Dollar Pocahontas Bet with Elizabeth Warren

Everyone’s different. I certainly know my own idiosyncrasies. For example, I would really, really like a million dollars.

That’s the difference, for example, between me and Elizabeth Warren.

It must be.

On Thursday, President Trump said if he were up against the Massachusetts senator in a debate, he’d offer her $1 million to take a test to determine her American Indian heritage.

I’d take it in a heartbeat. I’d let the press know right now that I wanna do it. Why wait for a debate scenario? Gimme gimme.

And, by the way, my test would come up positive.

Warren doesn’t seem as quick to cash in.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Montana, Trump explained explained his would-be tactic:

“But let’s say I’m debating Pocahontas, I’ll do this. I promise you I’ll do this, you know those little kits they sell on television for $2? Learn your heritage.”

As per factcheck.org:

“The Boston Herald reported that Warren had previously been touted in the 1990s by officials at Harvard Law School, where she was a tenured professor, as an example of the faculty’s diversity. That led to the revelation that Warren — citing only anecdotal evidence — claimed to be part Cherokee and Delaware Indian, and had listed herself as a minority in a directory of law professors from 1986 until 1995.”

Trump first called out Warren on her past claims of a tribal bloodline during his 2016 pursuit of the presidency. He was none too shy for a revival in Montana:

“I’m going to get one of those little kits and in the middle of the debate, when she proclaims she’s of Indian heritage — because her mother said she has high cheekbones, that’s her only evidence. We will take that little kit, we have to do it gently because we’re in the ‘Me Too’ generation, we have to be very gentle. We will very gently take that kit and we will slowly toss it, hoping it doesn’t hit her and injure her arm, even though it only weighs probably 2 oz.”

Show me the money:

“And we will say, ‘I will give you a million dollars, paid for by Trump, to your favorite charity if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian.’ And we’ll see what she does. I have a feeling she will say no but we will hold it for the debates.”

Warren was none too impressed. She retorted with an accusation that Trump had “ripped [children] from their mamas.” As previously covered, this is a lie. Federal law called for the children to be separated, as per a left-wing appeals court and Democratic Congress (see here and here).

Hey, @realDonaldTrump: While you obsess over my genes, your Admin is conducting DNA tests on little kids because you ripped them from their mamas & you are too incompetent to reunite them in time to meet a court order. Maybe you should focus on fixing the lives you’re destroying.

As for DNA tests, these are a good idea. To borrow a euphemism from the Left, these people are “undocumented.” We have no idea who they are (see more timely and relevant information about this here).

Oh — there was someone else who didn’t appreciate The Donald’s Warren warcry: that bastion of conservative ideology, HuffPost.

In fact, they managed to jam two different kinds of dumb into one accusation; according to HP, in his statements about Elizabeth, Trump committed atrocities in the realms of both racism and sexual assault.

C’mon, folks! Do they have to go full-tilt ridiculous?

Yes. Yes, they do.

In any case, Trump is still going strong. And that Pocahontas thing just keeps slaying the pro-Trump crowd.
