Michael Moore takes away mic from David Hogg after teen Parkland survivor encourages foreigners to interfere in US elections

• Michael Moore screened his anti-Trump documentary Fahrenheit 11/9 at Toronto International Film Festival
• During the Canadian screening he had Parkland survivors on stage 
• David Hogg, 18, mistakenly suggested Canadians can donate to US election campaigns
• Moore had to correct Hogg’s gaffe on stage & soon after gently took mic back

Michael Moore was forced to reclaim the microphone after a Parkland shooting survivor made confused claims onstage at the Toronto International Film Festival.

David Hogg, who just turned 18 in April, has had a crash course in politics, lobby money, the intricacies of the inner-workings of the NRA, and how to begin a powerful movement for gun-control since surviving the Marjory Stoneman Douglas massacre in February. 

On stage Friday, the renowned documentarian had to correct Hogg as he misspoke on Canadians being able to donate to American elections. 

After the screening of Moore’s anti-Trump ’Fahrenheit 11/9′ Hogg took the mic and gave a short speech but shortly after the director was forced to take back the mic.

‘I have a question for you guys,’ Hogg said. ‘Who’s ready to save America?’

The audience cheered. 

‘Who’s ready to make America the country we say it is on paper, and make it the actual country that it wants to be?’ he led on. 

Hogg said it was unfair that minorities that had served their time, couldn’t vote because of their prior convictions.

‘Um,’ he continued, turning to Moore, ‘I think Canadians can donate to political campaigns in the United States.’

Moore shook his head in disagreement.

‘They can’t?’ Hogg asked.

‘So uh, no, they can’t give us money,’ Moore told Hogg. 

‘Well, uh, vote here,’ he said, causing the audience to laugh as he covered-up for his still very much budding knowledge base on the complexities of American politics.

‘Learn from us,’ Hogg lectured. ‘Don’t let this happen here because we need to come to you guys if we stay on this track.’   

Hogg also addressed the IRS, saying ‘if you’re watching on Facebook, why aren’t you auditing the President of the United States who likely got $30 million from Russia via the NRA?’ 

Fahrenheit 11/9 is a reference to the date President Trump was elected.  

It will feature images of Michael using contaminated water from Flint, Michigan to hose down the state governor’s driveway and will also have appearances from Roger Stone, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Emma Gonzalez and more.

It will also feature an old interview from 1998 in which Roseanne Barr interviews Trump and Moore.

In the old interview, Trump cracks that he hopes he is never the target of a Moore film production.

Set to air September 21 in theaters have seen rave reviews in screenings thru far

Michael Moore and Donald Trump appear on Roseanne talk show

The project is being released to theaters later this month. 

Moore’s documentary will focus on Trump’s election victory and the aftermath of that. 

It will juxtapose footage from neo-Nazi events with clips from Trump rallies, among other things.

When he was asked why he wanted to take on this project, Moore explained to the Huffington Post in August: ‘Donald Trump is an evil genius.

‘He has no intention of leaving the White House. Whenever he hears that another country has a president for life, he perks up and thinks, ”I like the sound of that!” And he has an obedient political party that holds every seat of power backing him up.’

The filmmaker added: ‘American journalism schools have not trained students how to cover an authoritarian leader. Our media has no idea what it is up against. They’re getting steamrolled by a tyrant because Trump understands media and understands the country he lives in more than those that cover him do.

‘That puts us all in grave danger. If nothing else, I hope this film exposes that grave danger and shows people the way out.’

Michael told HuffPost he hopes Fahrenheit 11/9 will be as successful as Fahrenheit 9/11, which took aim at President George W. Bush.
