Fun Fact: Chris Cuomo Referred to Himself as “Fredo” During an Interview

Just to show you that the outrage over calling CNN host Chris Cuomo “Fredo” is all “faux and show,” allow me to present to you Fredo himself calling himself Fredo.

According to the New York Post, it happened when Cuomo was appearing with Curtis Sliwa on his AM 970 radio show in January 2010. The two were discussing his brother, Andrew Cuomo, and his possible run for Governor of New York:

“There is a group of people — politicos — who always hint they might run, but not necessarily plunge all the way, and they are members of la Cuomo.”

“Who am I, then, Fredo?” Cuomo asked in response.

“Yes, exactly,” Sliwa said. “So you better be careful that your brother Andrew doesn’t kiss you on both cheeks and then all of a sudden they take you out on the middle of the lake and where’s Chris?”

“He kisses me plenty because he’s a great big brother,” Cuomo said.

So Fredo labels himself Fredo, but gets upset and threatens to throw people down staircases when called that by other people, even going so far as to claim that “Fredo” is like saying the “n-word” to a black person.

This is like Cuomo trying to tell people they can’t call Italian people “Fredo” because it’s “their word.” Of course, it’s not a racial slur, it’s more of an attack on someone’s character, as Fredo was the weak brother from the Godfather movies who eventually betrays the family.

As I wrote in a previous article, Cuomo seems to have zero problems with the word “Fredo” if it’s being used as a way to describe people on the right. This includes the word being thrown around on his own show when used to describe Donald Trump Jr.

Again, all “faux and show” in order to promote the idea that the right is racist. However, if it is a racist term, then the left has a lot of explaining to do, including Fredo Cuomo.
