Trump floats possible defense treaty with Netanyahu days ahead of Israeli elections

BATTLE FOR WORLD / NEWS TRUST | September 14, 2019: On Saturday (Sept. 14) U.S. President Donald Trump said he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where the two expressed a possible Mutual Defense Treaty between the two countries that would further anchor an already tremendous alliance. Such a move could bolster Netanyahu’s re-election campaign just days before Israelis go to the polls to vote.

After Trump tweeted the message Netanyahu thanked him in a tweet saying that Israel “has never had a greater friend in the White House and that he looks forward to meeting at the U.N. to advance the historic Defense Treaty. 

Netanyahu went on Israeli TV making a direct appeal to voters based on the treaty Trump tweeted about. Saying that “I’m going to get us a defence pact that will provide us with security for centuries but for that I need your votes”.

The Mutual Defense Treaty could compel the United States to come to Israel’s defense if it is attacked. Even if Israel started it first? (BattleForWorld: World War Three in the possible making when Israel provoke Iran to start a war. Trump and Netanyahu have plans to annex regions of the Golan Heights away from the Palestinians. This treaty is only going to make Netanyahu more provoking.)
