▪️Ukrainian troops again attacked the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The Russian Ministry of Defense in the morning reported two shellings per day, in the late afternoon a Ukrainian drone was shot down over a nuclear power plant.

▪️The authorities of the Zaporozhye region are ready for any developments in the ZNPP, an evacuation plan has been worked out, the head of the regional administration told RIA Novosti.

▪️In the area of   Slavyansk, 250 enemy personnel were eliminated by high-precision strikes, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed an oil storage facility in the Dnepropetrovsk region, from which Ukrainian units were supplied with fuel.

▪️The Russian Ministry of Defense announced a strike on the workshops of the Motor Sich plant in Zaporozhye, where Ukrainian helicopters were being repaired.

▪️Ukrainian troops shelled Novaya Kakhovka four times in the Kherson region, in total about 20 rockets were fired, air defense went off, there were hits in the city center and the hydroelectric power station area.

▪️In the evening, Ukrainian troops shelled residential areas of Energodar, there are victims.

▪️Zelensky held a meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies, it was held in secret mode, the situation at the front was discussed.

The situation south of #Bakhmut: heavy fighting for #Kodema⚡️

Despite the bravura statements of some channels referring to local chats and the reigning among DPR channels, the village of #Kodema, south of Bakhmut (#Artemovsk), has not been taken.

▪️ The Wagner PMC assault units are fighting against superior enemy forces for an equipped AFU stronghold in the settlement. At best half of the village is under control.

▪️ In #Bakhmut itself is no active combat, there are sporadic clashes along Patrice Lumumba Street.

▪️ In #Soledar, LPR Cossack units are trying to advance further, but so far there has been no success.

Battle for #Ugledar: situation on 28 August 2022⚡️

▪️ The AFU command moved its reserves near #Ugledar, trying to expand its zone of control south of #Donetsk and counterattacking towards #Volnovakha.

Russian forces were able to dislodge the AFU from their strongholds on the outskirts of #Pavlovka. Although the settlement itself remains under enemy control, the fighting here is important in terms of destroying AFU reserves in the #Donetsk direction.

▪️ Fighting near #Novomayorskoye, #Shevchenko, #Pavlovka and #Nikolskoye restricts the AFU grouping and draws the attention of the AFU command away from #Avdeevka direction.

▪️ The advance of Russian forces in this area is complicated by the specifics of the terrain – the positions held by the AFU near #Ugledar are elevated relative to the deployment of allied forces.

▪️ In recent days, Ukrainian formations supported by two infantry fighting vehicles attempted to attack DPR positions in #Nikolskoye, but lost their equipment and retreated to their initial positions with losses.

▪️ The Ukrainian army had to abandon some of its positions near #Pavlovka and Nikolskoye despite a slower offensive by the Russian Armed Forces.

▪️ A 24-year-old US mercenary, Joshua Alan Jones, was killed in the fighting near #Pavlovka. His death has been confirmed by the United States Department of State.

Providing an update on the war in Ukraine, the Russian Defence Ministry said the high-precision weapons struck the Motor Sich plant in Zaporizhia.

Motor Sich is one of the largest engine manufacturers for planes and helicopters worldwide.

The ministry also accused Ukraine of shelling of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which has fast become a focal point in the war.

Both sides have been blaming each other for attacking the facility, and concerns have been raised about the risk of a radiation leak.

The Russian ministry also claimed that one oil storage depot near Nikopol in the Dniepropetrovsk region has been destroyed, as well as eight missile and artillery weapons and ammunition depots.

UN Deputy Secretary General Rosemary di Carlo: As the Secretary General made it clear, the electricity produced at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant belongs to Ukraine.

Nebenzya: “We have heard the words that the electricity of the Zaporozhye NPP belongs to Ukraine. We would like to point out that we have not heard such words from the UN Secretariat either in relation to Russian financial assets frozen in the West, or in relation to Syrian oil, which is being stolen by the American authorities, who are illegally occupying part of Syria. Never heard it!”

At 22:00 on August 28, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began another shelling of Energodar. At the moment, the number of victims has increased to nine people, two civilians are in critical condition.

The @rybar team tied the direction of hitting the residential building No. 8 on Warriors-Internationalists Street to the map.

This is irrefutable evidence of shelling from the opposite bank of the Kakhovka reservoir. Most likely, the shooting was carried out from the southern coast of the settlement of Nikopol.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation regularly suppress the firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the opposite bank of the reservoir. But given that the territory of the Dnepropetrovsk region is under the full control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the threat to the Zaporizhzhya NPP and Energodar will be eliminated only after the territories located to the north are taken under control.

The number of civilians injured during the shelling of Energodar reached seven, two were seriously injured.
