b.— Zelensky forbade a withdrawal and sent reinfocements to shore up the defence. But apparently, the Army command is against it.
There are some unverified reports that Hromovo has fallen or is about to fall. We should wait for more info before drawing conclusions
Under the threat of a cauldron: the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying to keep the “road of life” Konstantinovka-Bakhmut and is transferring more and more reserves from the Kharkov region to this front.
This road is the only remaining supply route for the Ukrainian forces in Artyomovsk and is the only way they can make an organized retreat.
🔹 Based on the enemy’s actions today, we can say that the enemy is not only pulling some units out of #Artyomovsk, but is also preparing for a gradual withdrawal to the western parts of the city (hence the undermining of the remaining bridges).
🔹 The reserves transferred to Chasov Yar are used for counterattacks at #Krasnoye and towards #Kleshchiyevka to regain partial control of the Chasov Yar – #Krasnoye #Artyomovsk road.
➖ At the same time, retaining control over #Khromovo and #Bogdanovka enables the AFU to retreat in small groups, which is important as the defence line in the city itself shrinks.
🔹 The fact that this line of conduct would be used by the enemy was pointed out back in October when plans for the defence of #Artyomovsk were discussed.
🔹 The success of these actions by the enemy depends on holding #Bogdanovka, #Khromovo and #Krasnoye, the loss of even one of these three settlements would be a disaster for those AFU forces that remain to the east of them. Therefore he will not surrender them without a fight.
🔹 The mechanized reserve (https://t.me/polk105/3183) concentrated near Chasov Yar acts as an “insurance” and “fire brigade” in case events accelerate and a terminal scenario threatens the AFU forces in #Artyomovsk.
🔹1. At the Moment, a cauldron has not yet been formed near #Artyomovsk. The enemy is still able to exit the city. Video confirms that the AFU is carrying out a controlled withdrawal of some units.
🔹2. There is a Build-Up of the AFU grouping in the area of Chasov Yar. Additional forces from the #Slavyansk – #Kramatorsk agglomeration are being redeployed. For the time being, these forces will be used to deter attacks by the Wagner PMC in the direction of the road through #Khromovo and for counterattacks in the direction of #Kleshchiyevka and on the Chasov Yar – #Krasnoye – #Bakhmut road.
🔹3. The Obvious Plan of the AFU command is a gradual controlled withdrawal of troops from #Artyomovsk, with intermediate positions in the western quarters of the city and near the AZOM plant. The success of these plans depends on how effectively the enemy reserves can counterattack our advancing forces and retain at least partial control of the roads and terrain west of #Bakhmut to enable withdrawal of personnel if no equipment can be withdrawn.
🔹4. The Ground and Terrain are heavily muddy – some of the equipment can only retreat along the one road the enemy has left. It is under fire. According to Ukrainian sources, it is possible to drive there at night.
🔹5. Our Troops are striving to establish tighter fire control over the road and to strengthen fire control over the area west of #Bakhmut in order to prevent the withdrawal of some units. The enemy is betting on holding the defences in the city for as long as possible by units of various “Volkssturm”, mercenaries and other rabble.
➖ They will try to draw the most useful units for future operations out of the city (UAV units, special forces, etc.). “Volkssturm” and mercenaries can be sacrificed by exchanging them for a while.
🔹6. Our Forces have not entered #Khromovo yet. The enemy retains the ability to defend in #Khromovo and hold the neck of a potential #Artyomovsk cauldron while maintaining supplies. They are playing a completely dangerous game here, because with our breakthrough in #Khromovo anyone remaining to the east of it will be trapped and unlikely to be able to retreat.
🔹7. The AFU has the option of unblocking strikes at the expense of reserves near Chasov Yar and mechanized units, at least up to two tank companies and artillery, which can be transferred from #Slavyansk and #Kramatorsk.
➖ But the enemy is not yet ready to fully invest in deblocking operations, because the situation for the AFU north of Seversky Donets in the direction of #Torskoye is deteriorating. They have to keep part of their forces to cover the front sections near Krasny #Liman and #Yampol, where fighting will resume soon enough.
➖ The enemy is seeking to dose its forces near #Artyomovsk, but if the crisis develops faster than the Ukrainian command expects, it will have to make more efforts for operations against Wagner to the west of the city.

According to geolocation they appear to be leaving,and “Wagner” is close to those positions moving in.
Regarding the leaving,roads are within fire control of “Wagner”,AFU units can disperse in smaller groups to increase chances of survival,and cannot use vehicles in big quantity to escape comfortly…
So many videos appear recently with smaller groups leaving on foot,and small number of vehicles here and there…
However, I do not share such optimistic forecasts at all. By the time “Wagner finishes at Bakhmut after more than 2 months of continuous assaults, it will have a long “catch your breath” moment.
Even if it is just replaced at the front by army units. And the enemy, once again “exchanged territory for time” (which, I am sure, was the plan of the commander-in-chief of the AFU), “will make its move”.
