Russian ambassador claims pilots acted ‘professionally’ with US drone

On 15 March 2023, at the initiative of the American side, telephone talks were held between Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

◽️ The main focus was an exchange of views on the causes and consequences of the 14 March incident involving a U.S. UAV crash in the Black Sea.  

◽️ Sergei Shoigu pointed out that the incident was caused by the U.S. actions of non-compliance with the flight restriction zone declared by the Russian Federation, established in connection with the special military operation, as well as increased reconnaissance activities against the interests of the Russian Federation.  

◽️ It is noted that the U.S. flights of strategic unmanned aerial vehicles off the coast of Crimea are provocative in nature, which creates preconditions for the escalation of the situation in the Black Sea area.  

◽️ The Russian Federation is not interested in such development, but it will continue to respond to all provocations in a proportionate manner. At the same time, the major nuclear powers should act as responsibly as possible, including maintaining military channels of communication to discuss any crisis situations.

The telephone conversation between the Russian Minister of Defence and the United States Secretary of Defense was held on 15 March 2023 between General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, and General Mark Milley, Chairman of the United States Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces.

US authorities have remotely removed “sensitive” software on the MQ-9 Reaper drone that crashed into the Black Sea.

Battle for #Avdeyevka 📌 #Krasnogorovka taken – Situation until 20:00 on 15 Mar 2023⚡️

🔹 North of #Avdeyevka, Russian troops have completely cleared #Krasnogorovka. The settlement has been taken under the control of the RF Armed Forces. At the moment, the Russian Army is advancing west of the village and consolidating its position in the liberated areas.

▪️ Due to the loss of #Krasnogorovka, Ukrainian formations have been actively transferring ammunition and essential foods to #Avdeyevka over the last few days in case of a defence breach. In addition, 15 men from the 116th Territorial Defence Brigade of the AFU arrived at the frontline.

🔹 South of #Avdeyevka, several units of armoured vehicles and assault units from the 53rd Mechanized Brigade of the AFU were redeployed to the area of #Tonenkoye and #Severnoye.

▪️ In the area 4 km northwest of #Pervomayskoye and 1.5 km north of the village there are fire positions of 155 mm M777 howitzers, and in #Pervomayskoye itself there is at least one MLRS launcher.

▪️ Over the past 24 hours, the AFU forces of the 53rd Brigade and 145th and 147th Separate Battalions conducted combat reconnaissance, advancing from the vicinity of #Severnoye. As a result, the Ukrainian formations managed to recapture one position, but the AFU could not advance further, losing eight men wounded.

📌 With the liberation of #Krasnogorovka, the situation of the AFU in #Avdeyevka has deteriorated, but it is premature to talk about encircling and attacking the outpost itself. Zaporozhye direction situation by the end of March 15, 2023

🔻Today, Ukrainian units, after artillery and aviation training, attempted to attack the positions of Russian troops in the Pologovsky and Orekhovsky sectors .

▪️North-west of Pology, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to storm the defensive lines of the 291st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motor Rifle Division and the 22nd Special Forces Brigade of the RF Armed Forces on several units of armored vehicles. The attack was repulsed by Russian fighters with the support of ATGM crews and artillery. The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost two tanks and two infantry fighting vehicles.

▪️Ukrainian assault detachments also attacked the defense lines of the 70th infantry regiment of the 42nd motorized rifle division near Novodanilovka in the Orekhovsky sector on several tanks. Artillery and mortar strikes destroyed four tanks, and the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed.

Soldiers of the 42nd division of the 291st regiment repulsed the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction and burned about 34 tanks, military commander Alexander Sladkov said.

💥In Donetsk direction, the attacks, launched by aviation, as well as artillery of the ‘Yug’ Group of Forces, have resulted in the neutralisation of up to 160 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 tank, 1 infantry fighting vehicle, 2 armoured fighting vehicles and 4 motor vehicles.

◽️The attacks have also resulted in the neutralisation of 1 Akatsia self-propelled artillery system, 1 D-20 howitzer, 2 Grad and Uragan MLRS, as well as 1 M777 artillery system and 1 U.S.-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer.
