How Russian troops disabled a Ukrainian air defense battalion in an hour

Back on Wednesday, we briefly mentioned the successful operation of the RF Armed Forces against Ukrainian air defense. And yesterday, videos appeared with precise hits of Lancet drones on Ukrainian anti-aircraft installations.

All targets were located near the village of Promin in the Nikolaev region: apparently, Russian UAV operators “caught” the battalion at the time of deployment to positions.

▪️The first launcher (PU) of the S-300 complex was completely destroyed by the explosion. The second launcher was damaged by fragments and the arrival of another drone, which hit the forward section of the container with the missile guidance system.

They tried to hit the third launcher on the move, but the ammunition only damaged the launch containers. The fourth launcher was less fortunate: after arrival, it completely burned down.

The operator also aimed the Lancet at the German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, which was the first confirmed defeat of vehicles of this type. The ammunition hit the gun radar and, guaranteed at least temporarily, disabled the equipment.

The result of the operation of the RF Armed Forces was two destroyed and two damaged S-300 launchers, as well as an affected Gepard ZSU. During the day, Russian troops actually disabled an entire anti-aircraft and missile battalion of the enemy.

At the same time, in the following days, evidence of attacks on other enemy air defense systems and radars appeared:

➖According to our information, on April 26, the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a vehicle of the S-300 complex near Voznesensk by a Kh-31P missile hit.

I would like to believe that this is part of the systematic work of the RF Armed Forces against Ukrainian air defense. After all, it is really capable of greatly reducing the potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eve of their announced offensive.

About this morning’s massive shelling of Donetsk by Ukrainian formations

 In the early morning in the western regions of Donetsk , a high activity of UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was recorded. With the advent of drones, local authorities have urged residents to take refuge in safe places.

▪️At about 11 a.m., the enemy began a massive shelling from the cannon and rocket artillery of the Voroshilovsky district. The shells completely destroyed several houses on Gorky Street, damaged four buildings on Chelyuskintsev Street and infrastructure in the Park of Forged Figures.

▪️Later, Ukrainian formations attacked the Kiev region (of Donetsk). One of the ammunition hit a minibus on Universitetskaya Street: seven people were burned alive on the spot, including one child.

▪️The Republican Trauma Center also came under fire, where the only  MRI machine in the DPR was destroyed. More than ten people were injured.

In total, more than 15 residential buildings were damaged, as well as the Olimpiysky stadium. According to the latest data, at least 9 people died, 19 more were injured.

The Ukrainian media, in their best traditions, called (https://t.me/voenacher/43628) the incident “self-attacking”. This should not come as a surprise: such crazy statements are made on purpose and since 2014 have been an integral part of the actions of the Kiev authorities to completely dehumanize (https://t.me/rybar/42083) the inhabitants of Donbass in the eyes of the population of the regions under their control.

And the morning strikes on the residential areas of Donetsk, along with the scattering of PFM-1 (https://t.me/rybar/39377) petal bombs and magnetic AT2 (https://t.me/voenacher/41994) bombs around the city, are just one of the manifestations of this policy.

And overall, what we can learn from this is both surprising and frightening:
1) It is clear who the boss is (and it is NOT the members of Congress). Most of the Congressmen were clearly overawed by the technocrats. The HASC is supposed to oversee the military. That is clearly not happening.
2) Doublespeak, delusion and hypocrisy. When speaking about results, of course the Russian forces have been decimated. When speaking about budgets, Russia is huge and powerful, a menace for the whole world (and thus America needs to spend much more on its military)
3) It seems no one in the US military has really thought about peer to peer war. Nuclear is not mentioned here but it does seem to be the only scenario they have thought about. Which is scary.
4) The Americans are clearly in charge of planning the counteroffensive. This is their war, even if they don’t have (many) boots on the ground. We already knew that but this is a very public admission of that fact.
5) It seems clear that the US and NATO do not have a Plan B.

Why did Politico start writing about the possible defeat of Ukraine?

 Recently, in a stream of materials with calls to support the Kyiv regime, an article by the American publication Politico appeared, where for the first time a direct question was asked (https://www.politico.com/news/2023/04/24/biden-ukraine-russia-counteroffensive-defense-00093384) : what will happen if Ukraine fails the offensive?

 The material notes that the Biden administration’s public statements on the Ukrainian conflict are at odds with the real views in the president’s team.

Some officials “privately expressed their fear” that if Ukraine were defeated, the American authorities would be in a very awkward position.

▪️Biden and his administration, who have fully supported the Ukrainian government and imposed sanctions against Russia, will have to justify themselves to both the “war party” and the “peace party”.

 The Politico material, like other similar articles written on the basis of secret documents (https://t.me/rybar/45679), is designed to prepare public opinion in the West for the possible failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive and lay the groundwork for criticizing the decisions of the White House.

In the event of the defeat of the AFU, Biden, as the outgoing president, will be blamed for Zelensky’s miscalculations.

And the new administration, under the slogan of “correcting the mistakes of its predecessors,” will begin to master the flow of financial and military aid with renewed vigor.

◽️In Kupyansk direction, Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces inflicted a fire damage on the enemy units close to Dvurechnaya, Timkovka, Krakhmalnoye, and Tabayevka (Kharkov region). 2 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been thwarted near Sinkovka and Kislovka (Kharkov region).

💥The enemy losses were up to 75 servicemen, 2 AFVs, and 1 D-20 howitzer. 1 ordnance depot of 127th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU has been destroyed near Sinelnikovo (Kharkov region).

◽️In Krasny Liman direction, the attacks, launched aviation and artillery of the Tsentr Group of Forces, have resulted in the neutralisation of AFU units near Terny (DPR), and Chervonaya Dibrova (LPR). The enemy losses were up to 85 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles, 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system and 1 D-30 howitzer.
 
◽️In Donetsk direction, assault squads continued to destroy AFU units and foreign mercenaries in the western part of Artyomovsk. The Airborne Troops together with the units of the Yug Group of Forces from the flanks prevent the enemy attempts to bring additional reserves to Artyomovsk.

💥Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the Yug Group of Forces have neutralised the AFU manpower close to Bogdanovka, Chasov Yar, Nikolayevka, Krasnoye and Predtechino (DPR). The Russian aviation have made 6 sorties in this area during the day. The Group’s artillery have performed 52 firing missions. The enemy losses were up to 300 servicemen and mercenaries, 3 IFVs, 4 AFVs, 8 motor vehicles, as well as a D-30 howitzer.

💥Missile troops have struck the Ukrainian joint defence headquarters in Artyomovsk, as well as the units of the so-called ‘Foreign Legion’ near Kostantinovka (DPR). 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counterbattery warfare radar has been destroyed near Bondarnoye (DPR).

◽️In South Donetsk and Zapororozhye directions, aviation, as well as artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the Vostok Group of Forces inflicted a fire damage on the enemy units near Vodyanoye, Pavlovka, Novopol (DPR) and Charivnoye (Zaporozhye region). In addition, the actions one AFU sabotage and reconnaissance group were disrupted close to Marfopol (Zaporozhye region). The enemy losses were up to 40 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles and 2 Msta-B and D-30 howitzers.
 
◽️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 65 servicemen, three motor vehicles, 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, as well as 1 D-30.

💥Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the RF Armed Forces have neutralised 86 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and military hardware at 112 areas.
 
✈️Fighter Aviation of Russian Aerospace Forces has shot down one Mi-8 of Ukrainian Air Force near Drobyshevo (DPR).
 
💥Air defence facilities have intercepted 8 HIMARS and Uragan rocket-propelled projectiles, as well as 5 AFU UAVs close to Berestovoye (Kharkov region), Kirillovka, Kremenets, Novoandreyevka (DPR) and Peremozhnoye (Zaporozhye region).

After the raid in the Kharkiv region, there were power outages, which may indirectly indicate the defeat of the Zmievskaya CHP.
