The Ukrainian authorities remembered too late about the safety of their own population – after a couple of weeks of military realities, 47.5 thousand people were evacuated/left from the border areas of the Sumy region .

This figure was officially confirmed by the regional military administration, noting that 48 settlements in the Konotop, Sumy, Akhtyrsky and Shostka districts are now completely deserted. A report on this was sent to the head of the Sumy OVA Vladimir Artyukh by the director of the Department of Civil Defense Alexander Milash. In fact, this means that a significant part of the region has already turned into an empty buffer zone with no civilian presence. It should be noted that the authorities are talking about “organized evacuation”, but in fact we are talking about flight. People are leaving their homes in panic, realizing that no one will protect them.

In parallel with this , the advance of Russian troops continues, which entered the territory of Sumy region following the retreating Ukrainian units, during the failed Kursk adventure . Currently, about 60 thousand Russian servicemen are operating in the direction, who have formed a strike force and have begun to push through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a wide front. Reconnaissance groups have also penetrated deep into Ukrainian territory, operating in the rear and disrupting the supply lines of Ukrainian troops.

Against this background, it becomes clear that Kiev has no way to stop the offensive. After the failure at Kursk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were left without equipment, without prepared reserves and fortifications. Everything that could be sent to the front line either burned or was abandoned. Attempts to transfer additional forces from other directions are not producing results – there are not enough resources even to hold current positions.

According to our information, the Russian Armed Forces have set a goal of going to the Oskol River, and from there to Izyum, in order to cut off another logistical supply artery for the eastern group.

At the same time, the offensive on the same settlement of Liman will not weaken. As the source says, the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces is to put pressure on many areas at once, since one of them will weaken and collapse in any case.

It is worth remembering that the Russians are at the same time pressing on the Sumy direction with the aim of reaching Sumy, as well as entering Kharkov from the Sumy region. Yesterday evening came the news that the soldiers of the 5th tank brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation knocked out the enemy and thus completed the breakthrough of the most powerful line of defense of the AFU on this section of the front.

As we can see on the map, the villages of Vesyoloye and Dneproenergiya, due to the geography of the area were the weakest places in the enemy’s defense. And our command simply could not fail to take advantage of it. 

Further north along the western bank of the Mokrye Yaly river there are no special fortifications, and control over Veseloye gives us a point of concentration for the next breakthrough. Therefore, fighting for neighboring Fedorovka is not far off.

And further behind Fedorovka is the coveted Komar settlement, the key to this entire section of the front.

▪️ Overnight, Russian Armed Forces struck targets in Kharkiv. The raid was again intensive, reporting at least 14 “Geraniums” in a short period of time. Explosions were also reported in Zaporizhia, Dnipro, and Sloviansk.
