Barack Obama’s assertion of executive privilege is no less than a blatant attempt to protect his crony-in-chief, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder… but now Obama’s decision to help cover up the botched Fast & Furious gun-running operation is blowing up in his smarmy face.
Conservatives on Capitol Hill already are seeking more than 70,000 additional documents to answer existing questions on the lethal Fast & Furious scandal.
Now, with Obama’s interference on behalf of his pal Holder, there is even more work to be done as Obama’s invocation of executive privilege opened up a whole new line of constitutional questions and challenges about the power and authority of the Oval Office.
Obama’s attempted cover-up is a scandal on the scale of Watergate that makes Nixon look like Billy Graham!
We cannot let this administration escape justice for the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, not when it’s so close.

Obama’s recent interference with the congressional probe has raised big red flags over whether or not the documents blocked by the campaigner-in-chief do in fact contain damaging information.
After all, Obama was willing to risk his recent popularity gains following his backdoor amnesty announcement in order to forever hide pertinent details regarding who knew what and when they knew it regarding the deadly gun-running operation that put more than a thousand assault weapons into the hands of notorious Mexican drug cartel members.
Critics of this over-bloated and over-reaching administration are also wondering whether Obama’s assertion was legitimate and whether or not the White House acknowledged its own involvement in either the scandal itself or the cover-up by asserting ‘privilege’ over the documents in question.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent a letter to Obama Wednesday requesting a “more precise description” of the president’s executive privilege claim and specifically whether or not Obama was extending the claim to documents pertaining to “communications with you,” or internal Justice Department communications separate from the White House.
Of course, DOJ officials are already trying to weasel their (and the president’s) way out of this one, noting that the assertion of executive privilege does not have to pertain to communications involving the president or White House staff and that any “deliberate communications” among Executive Branch officials could be covered.

Despite Obama’s attempted stonewalling of the investigation, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted Wednesday to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, but it is not official until a full floor vote is made in favor of doing so.
Holder, who has been particularly uncooperative during the congressional investigation, reportedly called the move “unwarranted, unnecessary and unprecedented” even though the DOJ has yet to hand over the requested documents showing who knew what and when they knew it regard to the ILLEGAL gun-running operation that resulted in thousands of lost assault weapons and deaths on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Although Holder is not yet formally held in contempt of Congress, the 23-17 committee vote to place him there signaled the exhaustion of all other means to pressure Obama’s DOJ to release pertinent information after months of ignoring the congressional subpoena requesting they do so. Obama supporters are rallying behind cries of a “political witch hunt.”
Investigation leaders pushed for the vote hoping to pressure the Department of Justice to release the documents requested in the subpoena after repeated stonewalling by this administration and its appointees. If the documents are released in time a floor vote on the contempt resolution could be prevented… but Holder and his DOJ minions do not want America to know what those condemning documents contain, and neither does Obama.
That’s why conservatives fighting for justice on Capitol Hill need our help to gain support for a full floor vote to formally hold Obama-favorite Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.

Make no mistake: Obama wants this investigation stopped and he is willing to abuse the power of the Oval Office to do it. The DOJ has for months been trying to compel the committee to close the investigation of this scandal which resulted in the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry where Fast & Furious guns were found at the scene of his murder in 2010. Now that Barack Obama himself is getting involved in blocking justice for Terry’s family, we can only guess just how far up the chain-of-command this scandal reaches.
One day after Holder requested Obama invoke executive privilege, it was granted. Still, the DOJ pretends cooperation. We cannot let Obama get away with blocking justice.
