War With Iran Is Coming Soon

During the last debate, President Obama told the country that Iran will not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. He was square-jawed and seemed convincing when he said it. Of course, as an American politician he is more actor than statesman, so a convincing delivery should only be given so much credit.

Perhaps he knows the issue is not pressing, or perhaps it is not as pressing as election year politics makes it out to be. Maybe it isn’t even true. There is a school of thought that believes the claim Iran is developing a nuclear weapon is as legitimate as the claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. We know Benjamin Netanyahu is acting jumpy. But that could be a political ruse to create a false sense of urgency within the American public. And if Iranian nuclear weapons are such a serious issue, why has the supreme ruler done so little about them during his first term? After all, Iran is now four years closer to having the bomb, as Mitt Romney pointed out.

However, noting that it takes much longer to build a nuclear facility than it does to blow one up, railing against the supreme ruler’s inaction carries only so much legitimacy. So unfortunately, Romney, Republicans and any other critics can only press the issue so hard or risk losing credibility. If the supreme ruler wants to give Iran more time to re-think its posture, then we must be patient. Which is just as well, because the crystal ball indicates the war with Iran will begin soon enough. And if you read the tea leaves, it seems likely it will occur whether Iran is developing a nuclear weapon or not.

Make no mistake, Iran and America are not friendly. And it is not likely they will pass the peace pipe anytime soon. Most historians agree the decades of animosity started with the 1953 coup d’etat orchestrated by the US and Great Britain against the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh.

The operation was a London initiative with Washington only joining the fun after securing support from several Iranian military members. Elements of the tale include the standard hand-picked replacement government — that is the point of a coup after all — false flag bombings committed by Iranians but blamed on communists and an extensive dis-information campaign using manufactured news stories and planted editorials within Iranian newspapers.

Incidently, the Iranian coup was the blueprint for additional CIA dirty deeds including Guatemala in 1954 and the disastrous Cuban “Bay of Pigs” in 1961.

Back in Tehran, the newly installed Shah ruled with an iron fist for over two decades. And as we are beginning to learn here in America, an unresponsive government gets old quickly. So as you might expect, the crackdowns and oppression created resentment within the common folk and soon rage against the West was pervasive within the society. This multi-generational bitterness led to the 1979 Iranian Revolution and the take over of the US embassy. Oh, and it probably has a little something to do with Tehran sponsoring terrorist attacks against the West. Sort of a “take that, you imperialist pig” element, if you like.

Former US Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, acknowledged the coup’s pivotal role in the breakdown of relations between Tehran and Washington. “The Eisenhower administration believed its actions were justified for strategic reasons,” she said. “But the coup was clearly a setback for Iran’s political development. And it is easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs.”

The point is there is long-term bad blood — some five decades — between Tehran and Washington. So to believe either side will just decide to bury the hatchet anywhere but in the other’s head, is probably to simplistic. More likely, a hatchet will have to be taken from somebody. And that means a fight.

And then there is the black gold.

If you believe the propaganda press, the US has sanctions against Iran for its nuclear ambitions. Part of those include an oil embargo. But the reality is industrialized countries must have oil. Repeat, must. You can see the dilemma a country faces when Washington called for sanctions. So skirting the sanctions and buying oil without using petrodollars has become the new international game. One of the ways to do this is to purchase oil with gold. Perhaps you heard that China, Russia and India have pursued this. It is only a short-term option as no country will deplete their entire gold stockpile for a commodity. What concerns government officials is the precedent it sets. You’ll be hard pressed to read this in the propaganda press — ignorant citizens are controllable citizens — but cut out the Federal Reserve, that is, petrodollars, from oil transactions and America becomes a house of cards ready to collapse from the softest breeze. On August 15, 1971, for reasons we won’t explore here, President Richard Nixon shocked the world when he officially ended the international community’s ability to convert dollars into gold. However, realizing the critical need for maintaining an international demand for the dollar, Nixon had Secretary of State and NWO promoter Henry Kissinger, cut a deal with Saudi Arabia. America would pledge weapons and protection if Saudi Arabia would accept only dollars from its oil customers. The deal was agreed to in 1973 and by 1975 all the OPEC countries were in on the act. The petrodollar system was in place.

Suddenly, all the countries that need oil, needed dollars. Life was good for the American consumer, the Federal Reserve and the Federal government as all benefit to some degree from a high demand for the dollar. But it is the Federal Reserve that we want to focus on here.

The Federal Reserve, being a private corporation, has a compelling reason for maintaining a global demand for U.S. Dollars. It’s called profit. The racket is simple enough. The Federal Reserve is authorized to print our money. Even better for them is that our government borrows the newly printed money from them at interest. And here’s the best part — the interest rates charged to our government are set by the Federal Reserve. The more dollars in circulation (dollars are literally Federal Reserve notes) the more loans it has out, the more interest it collects and the more profit it makes. And with the obscene profits, it buys more politicians to keep the system in place. It is perhaps the scam of all scams.

Unfortunately, the petrodollar is the only form of backing the dollar enjoys. Remove it and the dollar becomes a mere piece of paper — fire-starter — and America becomes the United States of Barter Towns.

In short, Iran doing oil deals for gold is a direct threat to America. It is a national security issue. But a gold for oil transaction is a short-term fix. A better solution is to just accept the native currency of the country that wants to buy oil. It turns out, that is exactly what is occurring. Iran has been conducting oil transactions with Russia, China and  a handful of other countries using native currencies, thereby side-stepping petrodollars. Could it be this, rather than the “Iran has nuclear weapons” narrative, that is the reason Washington is leaning on Tehran?

The fact is, petrodollars give America an economic advantage over all other countries of the world. Naturally, leaders realize this and, as you might expect, attempts to side-step petrodollars have been tried.

In 2000, Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein called the dollar the currency of an “enemy state” and wanted to use petro-euros. So adamant was he that he threatened to stop all oil exports if payment in euros was denied. [link] That situation came to a boil in October, 2000. Suddenly, the propaganda press was announcing to Americans that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. On March 20, 2003, the US military invaded Iraq. By 2006, side-stepping Saddam was swinging at the end of a rope.

Recently, a somewhat bizarre dictator, hooked on plastic surgery, pushed doing oil deals using his currency, the gold dinar. [video link] His name was Muammar Qaddafi and until last year, he ran Libya.

You may also find this interesting. In March 2008, addressing the Arab League summit, Qaddafi, referring to Saddam Hussein’s take-down, told Arab leaders that “In the future, it is going to be your turn, too…America may approve our hanging one day.” [video link] Of course, Qaddafi wasn’t hanged. On October 20, 2011, he was shot in the street like a dog.

Back in 2007, at an OPEC meeting, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the dollar “a worthless piece of paper” and called for a “good currency to take over U.S. dollar’s role and to serve oil trades”. And now Iran is doing oil deals without petrodollars.

Is Iran really developing nuclear weapons or is the Federal Reserve upset because it is missing out on lots and lots of profits? Either way, the political puppets it owns in Washington are starting to whip the citizens into a frenzy. When that is successful expect Iran to be invaded.
