Things that happened in the same city that my family live after hurricane Maria and the 100% blackout (considered impossible until that day). 2 to 4 hours gas station lines and them someone with a gun cut the huge line and fill his car. People were robbed in sams and costco parking lot to take the food, they let you keep the car and wallet. People empty the atm’s in just a few hours, a friend of mine that is a bank manager found every morning both atms empty every day the first 3 to 4 days. My parents received bad meat at the local grocery store. The trucks did not have diesel to bring supplies and more fuel, after a few days fema, army and us/pr national guard began the distribution, airport was flooded and closed for a while. No water and a lot of people got sick and/or die for consuming bad water. The real amount of dead people at this day, was never confirmed by the local or federal goverment. Hoods and public complex prepare their own security perimeter and shot cars that get close to their area (called caserios) people in my own family skip 1 meal a day to conserve food. The supplies that I sent were received 2 weeks later. Any person with a CCW license was offered over $20 per hour to provide any sort of security to people with money or business. The list go on and on. Hope this help someone in the future.

There will be 72 hours of confusion, followed by 90 days of chaos. The trick will be to get to day 94.

I live in a small town so I would go and wait in the hand out line even though I have plenty of supplies at home , that way people will think I am in the same predicament as everyone else and will not start asking why they never see me or my family looking for food

Small tip…I’m on cholesterol medicine, which is not a life-dependent daily medicine. It took me a year to do so, but I skip a day of my medicine here & there, and built up a 3-month back-up supply for SHTF.

The triad of the American Sheeple: gas stations, grocery store, ATM. If you find yourself at any of these locations (particularly being the LAST person to get cash out of an ATM), you are quite simply…wrong.

I’m lucky part of my family are avid hunters, tradesmen, and some ex military. They will be invaluable…

Avoid anywhere with a diverse population, turns out diversity isn’t our strength after all.

And this is why, whenever someone advocates a “cashless society”, they are forgetting the main problem with disasters. I pray America never goes totally cashless.

Never thought of putting away smaller bills besides 20′s. Good idea.
