Learn the Once Secret Art of Movie Character Voiceovers with Classes from Local Audio Engineering Schools

When animated films came out several decades ago, it was considered new, amazing, and awe-inspiring. In fact, many people thought what they were witnessing was some form of secret ‘magic. Over the years, people have since realized that it is not magic, but animation. However, they still do not know how it is done.

Now, people can take an inside look at how movie character voiceovers are performed by taking several community classes that are hosted by several local audio engineering schools.

“What we have created is a collection of several audio engineering classes that we are opening up to the community”, explained the dean of one of the audio engineering schools. “We consider it a way to provide the community with access to fun, exciting classes that will enhance their learning. This class would be fun for movie buffs, cartoon enthusiasts, and anyone interested in recording audio sounds.”

The classes take place over eight weeks and will show people how to record, broadcast, and produce voiceovers. The voiceovers would ideally be able to be used in regular live-action films, cartoons, and even video games.

“We just want people to get excited about learning”, explained the dean. “What better way to do that than with free classes offered through our schools? People love free and it would open them up to possible careers or hobbies that they never would have thought they would be interested in pursuing.”

The classes offered by the audio engineering schools are currently just for voiceovers. The schools are working with various art schools to create an entire community course that would allow people to learn about how to produce and direct animated films and cartoons.

“Our goal is to create an entire course that includes multiple classes and everything people would need to know about how to produce and direct an animated film or cartoon”, explained the director of the courses. “Voiceovers are just a small part of the process, so we will work on expanding the possibilities and other things to people would learn.”

Once the course is completed, it would be the first course of its kind that is open to the public. Most audio engineering schools have courses that are only available to students, but these courses would be open to the public and offered on a donation-fee scale.
“Students will only be required to give a donation”, explained the director of the school. “We are not charging to attend, but people can donate. That is all we ask. Requiring students to pay tuition would limit who could or could not attend this course.”
