Lightning Fast Communication Possible with Robotic Project Portfolio Management Robots

Project managers that are overseeing major projects have one common complaint – communication. The hurdles faced when trying to communicate with multiple workers and project managers can make it difficult to get a project completed on time. Luckily, a new communication device could solve that problem.

“What we have created is tiny little robots that would quickly move from project to project”, explained Gavin Fallows, the designer of this new communication device. “It really is a lot better than working on a tablet or smartphone. It requires you to pay attention.”

The robots would take a message from one of the project managers and send it directly to another. The robot would appear in front of the manager and require the individual to read the message. This is different from emails and texts, which can be ignored and overlooked.

“Each robot has a tiny project portfolio management system that it works”, explained Fallows. “The robot is then programmed to be able to dart or fly back and forth between the projects within that project portfolio management system.”

In many ways, the robots represent the project manager. They have all the information available at their fingertips and they quickly jet over to another project. This is done faster than an individual being able to travel by bus, car, or train to another location.

“This type of project portfolio management system is just what we need”, explained one of the workers on a recent major hotel building project. “It is so hard to be in so many places at once. Now, I can be in one place at a time, but the robot can be in multiple places and hopping to new areas.”

The project manager estimated that communication between the employees and workers was a lot better thanks to this new system. The new system is currently in beta mode, but if it is proven successful it will be available for project directors to purchase.

“It is worth the investment”, explained Fallows. “The ability to have the robot hopping and jetting to different projects is just amazing. I see this really taking off in the future. Imagine driving down the street and instead of seeing birds in the sky, you see robots flying back and forth. That is what I see and I think it will be a reality before we know it. All thanks to this project.”
