Orthopedic Surgeon Jose J. Monsivais MD, FACS Endorsed For His Work in The Leading Physicians of the World

As one of the leading orthopedic surgeons of Texas, Jose J. Monsivais MD, FACS has been selected to represent his community in the publication of The Leading Physicians of the World issued by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP). In practice for almost thirty years, Dr. Monsivais continues to display the commitment to patient care required to receive this prestigious honor.

Dr. Monsivais practices at Hand and Microsurgery Center of El Paso, Texas, and also through his affiliations with Sierra Providence East Medical Center, Del Sol Medical Center, and Foundations Medical Center. He performs different procedures, but his area of expertise is orthopedic hand surgery. Dr. Monsivais is certified in Hand Surgery (1989) and General Surgery (1987) by the American Board of Surgery. To keep up-to-date in his field, Dr. Monsivais is an active member of American Medical Association, Society of Actuaries, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association for Hand Surgery, American Society for Peripheral Nerve and American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. Above all that, he has published fifty-seven publications.

Dr. Monsivais received his education from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in 1968 and then trained at R.E. Thomason General Hospital and Duke University Hospital.  He has worked as a volunteer in international locations as Ethiopia, Palestinian Camps, Honduras, Lebanon, Eastern Europe, and West Bank. He additionally volunteered in the Ukraine and Iraq for eighteen months and helped serve citizens in Eastern Europe at former Soviet Republics after the fall of the Republic. He has attributed his success as an established orthopedic surgeon to hard work and to his great mentors. Besides work, he also enjoys running and riding.
