Of all health issues that are rampant, dentists in Dubai are increasing attention on dental care. Unfortunately, this has appeared to be an area that is largely neglected especially taking into account recent findings that 3 out of 4 people have not visited a dentist for consultation in over 2 years. This has led to dire warnings on the dangers of periodontitis and gingivitis, both types of gum diseases caused by accumulated plaque. In addition to this, they have highlighted a rise in the demand for dental implants in Dubai as tooth loss is higher than ever. The primary cause as it appears, is a lack of interest in consulting a dentist periodically as well as a lack of services that fit into the busy lifestyles of today.

American Dental Clinic has introduced a 24 hour emergency service in light of this, so that people have the option of professional care at any time of the day. Due to work and family commitments, it has been found that people are unable to get themselves to a dentist as the problem starts which means it has a chance to fester and worsen over time. At the last minute, it can be tough locating suitable providers who not only do a good job, but are also easy on the wallet. Unfortunately, such options have been practically non-existent.

‘When we treat our patients, we generally take the time out to get to know them. A patient-dentist relationship is very important as people prefer to not swap consistently once they are comfortable with someone. Hence, we were able to find out that 95% of them really need a 24 hour emergency service in place as they found it tough to find someone to help them at 1am. Tooth aches and pains crop up at the most inconvenient times, and sometimes without warning. We decided we did not want to be like everybody else… unavailable when our patients need us the most.
