John Pryor, strength and conditioning coordinator for the Japan Rugby Football Union and director of JointAction, is announcing the publication of a new interview with Inspirery detailing the advanced methodologies he utilizes while preparing elite rugby athletes for the highest level of international competition. Lengthy and thoroughly detailed, the interview covers a wide variety of subjects ranging from the impetus of JointAction to the specific training philosophies that ultimately contributed to Japan’s massive upset of South Africa in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

In the newly published interview, which can be found at http://inspirery.com/john-pryor/ , Pryor offers expansive responses and discusses at length some of the inherent challenges associated with training elite athletes for international competition. Pryor, who holds a Master of Health Science in Biomechanics from Southern Cross University, also offers insight regarding the role of his ongoing research in developing strength and conditioning programs and details the importance of the work currently being done by JointAction as it pertains to the health and wellness of the workforce.

“There are going to be challenges associated with training athletes for peak fitness regardless of the level of athletic competition, and I believe that the development of any athletic training program should include thorough research along with a clear commitment to individualization,” said Pryor. “In releasing this interview, my hope is that those involved in athletics understand that the time and energy that goes into creating a program is every bit as critical as the time and energy that goes into executing the program.”
