THE RESURRECTED SPIRITUAL BODY; IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK

Most people have the idea that man is a body and a soul. We are more than that; we also have a spirit.The Bible says we are created in three parts: spirit, soul, and body. We have to understand what this means if we are going to understand what the coming spiritual body will be. Spiritual body does not mean ethereal; it means a body dominated by the spirit.
MAN IS A TRINITY – MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
This is recognized in Psychology as Id, Ego, and Super-ego. ( Freudian ) or Parent, Adult, Child. ( Transactional ) Psychologists who have studied human nature recognize these three facets of our whole being.
Genesis 1 :26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
This scripture can be illustrated by a light bulb. When the electricity comes in contact with the filament, the result is light. When the spirit comes in contact with the body, the soul is the result.
1 Thessalonians 5: 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God [is] living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
With the Word of God and practice, you can actually discern the difference between your spirit, soul, and body.
( SOMA ) BODY, INCLUDING BRAIN – WORLD AWARENESS
( PSYCHE ) – SOUL, OUR MIND – SELF AWARENESS
( PNEUMA ) SPIRIT - GOD AWARENESS
BODY ( SOMA ) WORLD CONSCIOUSNESS
With our five sense we are aware of the physical world around us. It is called our flesh with all of its desires.
We live in our body but we are more than just our body. The body is like a house for our soul. It is called a tent (tabernacle, temple) in the Bible.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt ( tabernacled ) among us…
2 Corinthians 5:1&4 For we know that if our earthly house, [this] tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens…For we who are in [this] tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
2 Peter 1:13&14 Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding [you], knowing that shortly I [must] put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.
Our brain is a part of our body. Theoretically, if all our body parts were removed, and somehow our brain was kept alive, we would still be conscious but we would have lost part what makes us what we are. The brain is not the same thing as the mind. Our brain is like a computer that we use to store and retrieve information. It is different because the computer is not really a part of us. We do not think through the computer. Our brain determines our paradigm based on the schemas we have formed in it. Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart ( the schema ) above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” ( This will be the subject of a future article )
SOUL ( PSYCHE ) SELF CONSCIOUSNESS
The word “psychology” comes from this Greek word for soul. We are our soul. People are called souls in many parts of the Bible.
Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
Your soul is the real you; the you that no one has ever seen. People do not see the inward thoughts, emotions, desires that are going on in your soul. You can communicate what is going on with your words, inflection, demeanor, etc, but they cannot see this part of you.
I believe this gives insight into how Jesus could be God and man.
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared ( communicated, exegeted ) Him.
John 14:9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
The soul is the seat of the mind, will, and emotions.It is the medium between the body and the spirit.
The soul is where we have free will. It is where decisions are made.Since the soul is the seat of the will it becomes the battle ground of a war between the flesh and the spirit.
Galatians 5:16&17 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
We are engaged in a battle for the mind or soul. ( psyche ) Our mind or soul must undergo a transformation to understand God’s purpose and plans revealed in the Bible. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind ( soul ), that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Satan controls the minds of the unsaved.
2 Corinthians 4: 3&4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Ephesians 2:2 … you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience…
The word “world” in the above passage is “aion”. It means all the floating mass of thoughts, opinions, maxims, impulses at any time current in the system of the world controlled by Satan, which constitute a most real and effective power in the moral atmosphere in which we live.
The “thought” portal, the paradigm, or the world view that has been the influence of Satan’s system must be destroyed and rebuilt according to the new influence of the Holy Spirit on our mind. This can only be accomplished through the Word of God.
2 Corinthians 10:4&5 For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
This process is hindered by sin in our life. James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
1 Corinthians 2:14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
SPIRIT ( PNEUMA ) GOD CONSCIOUSNESS
The spirit is the part of us that is aware of God.
All people are born with an intuitive knowledge of God.
Romans 1:19 DBY Because what is known of God is manifest among them, for God has manifested [it] to them,
The spirit is the seat of the conscience. Proverbs 20:27 The LORD’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.
This is the basis of all moral law. Romans 2:14&15 Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)
The spirit is what died when Adam sinned. Death always means separation in the Bible. At physical death our spirit is separated from our body, and spiritual death means the spirit of man is separated from God.
The spirit is made alive at the new birth.
Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
God himself comes into our spirit and begins to live in us.
John 14: 23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them…
The first thing that happens when our spirit is made alive is we have a new awareness of God. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge…
We are dominated by our soul and body now. Even when we are born anew we still have to battle these carnal forces. Galatians 5
When we receive our new bodies, we will no longer be dominated by our soul and body, but our spirit will be fully in tune with God and we will be dominated by our spirit. This is why it is called a spiritual body.
The spiritual body will not be some ethereal body but a body of flesh and bone that is dominated by the spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:44
It is sown a natural (psyche) body, it is raised a spiritual (pneuma) body.

I would like to add that those who are “of this world” can never see the “kingdom of heaven”. Here is what Jesus said about them:
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

The kingdom of this world and the kingdom of heaven are diametrically opposed. For those in this world who have their minds set on earthly things, they want to see and understand things first and then they will believe. But in the kingdom of heaven, it is the exact opposite. Believe first and then you will see and understand. You must trust in the LORD and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). In order to enter the kingdom of heaven, you must take the step of faith. Believe first and then you’ll see.
The point of contact between God in heaven and men on earth is through a person’s spirit. But for those who are “of this world”, they are spiritually dead. So they cannot receive revelation from God, for the line of communication is not working. So when the people who are “of this world” try to understand the supernatural world, it makes no sense to them. They cannot see, nor can they hear. But once a person takes the step of faith and believes on and accepts Jesus, they become born again and their spirit comes alive and the line of communication between them and God works. So then God, who is Spirit, is able to communicate with that person’s spirit and gives revelation to that spirit. The spirit of such a man then is able to infuse the soul with the revelation it has received. Such a person is able to see and hear from God because his spirit has been quickened and made alive in Christ.
So, for those wish to see before they will believe, they will continue to look and look without ever seeing. But for those who take the step of faith and believe first, they will see and they will understand because they have eyes to see with and ears to hear with. The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

There are three steps that God uses to enlighten us.
(1) Revelation – he reveals his word to his Apostles and prophets.
(2) Inspiration – He inspires them to write it down with words picked out by the Holy Spirit.
(3) Illumination – The same Holy Spirit who inspired the writers illuminates our minds to understand what they wrote.
This is an outline of 1 Corinthians 2.

This has been verified by people who have had “Near Death Experiences” and their brain waves went flat and yet, they were able to, from a position above their bodies, tell everything that went on in the operation room in great detail (google Pam Reynolds).

His book has extensive research by neurologists. One very curious thing that comes out of this is that memory may not be in the brain. Memory may be some kind of a field that the brain acts as a receiver for.

I’ve often wondered if all matter doesn’t have some sort of sub -energy ( for lack of better term to use) which we have not been permitted to understand and utilize do to our temptation to sin and misuse it? The ‘veil put over our eyes”? What you have done is given us the basis of serous discussion and debate and Praises to the Almighty for it. I believe there will be a rapture of some kind and some time, but too many have just sat down and given up and don’t think we are to do that; this sort of article gives us a different perspective than what is commonly out there and may be causing so much hopelessness for some. Soul: #5315 “Nephesh”. The Hebrew word Nephesh is used throughout the Old Testament and is mostly translated ‘soul’.
The Greek word ‘Psuche’ is the only word that is translated “soul” in the NT. Psuche is found 105 times in the NT, of which it is translated “soul” only 58 times, “life” 40 times, “mind” 3 times and “heart”, “heartily”, “us” and “you” one time each.
The Greek word psuche is the exact Greek rendering of the Hebrew word nephesh and is used in the same way throughout the NT.
Psuche is used of the lower animals, just as you have seen nephesh used of lower life forms in the first chapter of the book of Genesis! In Revelation 8;9, the Greek word psuche is rendered “life”. Psuche is the only word used for “soul” in the NT. Revelation 16:3, where lower life forms are spoken of, the word “soul” (“psuche”) is used. Verse 3 describes one of the horrible plagues that will fall upon land and sea, and its says “ every living soul died”. This is NT proof the word soul as it found in both the New and Old T, means a being, or living thing – which can die.
Ezekiel 18: 20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Human beings are a temporary life form which Jesus Christ came to with the offer of eternal life.
Eternal live is for those that obey God the Father and do His Will. God the Father will allow not one into His family that will not obey His Word. His word is Law.l
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
The Bible uses the Greek word Psuche in many different ways, as listed above:
40 times it means simply, life. Thus God can destroy the life and the physical body in Gehenna fire.
We are not immortal souls, the 2nd death kills those that will not obey, they cease to exist for all eternity everything they were is gone, those that remain will have no memory they ever existed.
Human are souls, living breathing creatures, just like animals. What makes humans different is the ‘Spirit of man’ God puts in everyone. Zechariah 12:1, I Corinthians 2: 11 and Job 32: 8.
The Spirit in Man is not a soul it is the spirit from God that imparts God like intelligences thus making us different then animals. that is why our brains are quantitatively similar to some animals. We can create new thoughts, new design, we can think of the future, not possible in animals.
Every living creature has its own spirit imparting the instinct of their species given to them by God, the spirit of an eagle gives the eagle every instinct necessary for them to live and reproduce.
In many animals such as a horse, it imparts individual personalities as well, God hates sameness.
The Spirit in man is not us, it is not eternal, it is in us but not us. the only physical way understand is to equate it to a recorder that records all thoughts and our personal character, who we are, the sum of our lives.
When the Saints are resurrected from the grave God places that Spirit in man into the Spirit body He gives us. That Spirit body is created from the Holy Spirit of God the Father, as He did for our elder brother Jesus Christ, we will all be ONE — of the same Spirit.
Angels are created from Spirit but not the Holy Spirit which is why one third sinned. With The Holy Spirit of God the Father, sin is impossible.
There is the spirit of angels, the spirits of humans, the spirit of animals, birds, fish ect. only angels are immortal.
Jesus’ resurrected body
Luke 24:37&39 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit… Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

did He not walk through stone walls, did He not vanish and also appear right in front of the Disciples?
When He walked with a few of the Apostles not long after His resurrection, did they recognize Him?
When Jesus Christ wrestled with Jacob was He not fashioned as flesh and blood?
Did He not eat with Abram?
Do not limit God.
A good way — to begin — to understand God, God created trillions and trillions of suns, solar system ect
Our own sun is tiny, Just envision God sending out electrical cords to 100′s of trillions of suns and from His power His Spirit with absolutely no strain, hangs them in empty space and fires them up for billions of years. God has no limits. He can do anything but sin.
To use the term Mike appropriately used to described Pix’s comment, no amount of rigmarole can change the fact that the resurrection body is a body of flesh and bone.

So the Saints in the first resurrection that rise from their graves (dust) are going back to flesh and blood??? Is that a human that pumps blood throughout the body to give life?? or what?

Vs 3 & 4 shows Nicodemus understood Christ is talking about a birth, not some
spiritual mumbo jumbo, but a birth to life and Christ is talking about a birth to
eternal life.
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
[of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God is a Spirit Kingdom not flesh and blood, and except a human
receives the living waters that flows from the belly of Christ and of the
Holy Spirit of God the Father and becomes Spirit he can not enter.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Does this really have to be explained? Spirit Is Spirit! flesh is flesh –
the two do not mix. Are you telling me that Angels are flesh and blood also?
We are now created a little lower then the Angels, but we will be higher after
the resurrection except we will be hindered by being flesh????
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not
tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Does this not say flesh and blood can not see spirit? “So is everyone that is born of
the Spirit” the Saints will be like the wind, invisible.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these
things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have
seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you

Very nice, truthseeker. I like the way you breakdown the word “soul”. I like to describe it as “existence” the fact that existence of something is it’s soul. For “spirit” holds together all things that are. Man “became a living soul”. It says nothing about possession, that’s “state of being” talk.
“Human Being” can be translated “Human Soul”. Substitute the word “being” for the word “soul” and then the word “soul” can be better understood.
Heart + Soul + Mind + Strength = Being. Being = Soul. Soul = Life.
When Moses and Yeshua said we are to love the Father with all of our “heart, soul, mind and strength” they were saying that we are to love Him with all that we are. How do we love? By living(that’s right, applying to ALL aspects of all life) by the Law.
Look at how the electricity moves through an atom, with no obstruction. We are the vessel for God’s electricity to flow. If we obstruct this then the light will go out. The knowledge of good and evil is there is no good or evil. We are all one vessell shattered into perfect pieces that have everything we need in order to do God’s will. As long as you reject evil and not try to understand that this is a reflection of the iniquities within yourself, evil in the world will grow. As soon as humanity come to the realisation that in order to soothe the Earth of catastrophy we have to not be offended by it but learn to understand what it is about our own selves that causes such a reaction. Only when the ‘crying baby’ is soothed and cradled can we enter into eternal life with the glory of God.
Until then, the more you oppose evil, the more evil will come your way. You are causing a divide in the body of Christ and stopping the flow of God.

I’ve haven’t come across a single ‘religious’ person who doesn’t try to change the subject if you bring up a valid point they can’t/wont answer. Don’t bite because it’s a distraction to change the subject to one they are well versed in.. insults, vilifying, cursing, bearing false witness, followed by whining about how persecuted they are, etc, where you then discuss how wrong they are instead. You can derail that by refusing to discuss anything other than your point, which leaves them looking like the idiots they truly are.

Mike, whether intentional or not all I see is stumbling contradictions that stand in opposition to the one true God. You advocate instead of spiritual truth the blasphemous doctrine of the harlot. You mistakenly confuse what is physical with that which is spiritual relying on imaginative depictions of Yahweh and His plan for mankind.
God tells us when we die we return to the ground from where we came and that the dead are conscious of nothing. We are told of two resurrections one when Christ returns the first 144,000 will be raised from their graves transformed into spirit. These are the tried and true God has selected to help Christ during his millennial rein. Because they are to be resurrected to spirit they are not subject to the second death. The are the first after Christ to enter the spiritual family of Elohim.
The second resurrection occurs when the millennial period is over. This is when everyone else is resurrected. All these folks are to be raised receiving restored physical bodies. This is why they can die again or are subject to the second death. Those resurrected during the second phase will be given the opportunity to accept God and repent. Should they refuse instead desiring their own ways the will return to their former state of death or experience the second death!
This resurrection misunderstanding usually goes hand in hand with the false idea that man ascends to Heaven after death. Scripture on the other hand tells us something totally different. Jesus tells us that no man ascends to Heaven who has not first descended from Heaven. He also gave us the Lord’s Prayer as an example of to who and for what to pray for. “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”
Confirming this truth is Rev 20:11 through 21: 8 ” (KJV: Revelation 20: 11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
(KJV: Revelation 21:1 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Fire and brimstone is symbolic of everlasting destruction. Like when trash is incinerated it is gone forever, kaput, history with no chance whatsoever of re-materializing. If those resurrected during the second resurrection reject God and refuse to repent, they will return to the grave where they will decompose and return to dust. This “death” is the penalty or wage of sin, not the everlasting torture misunderstanding projects.
