NON-apostle Luke is setting up those in Judaea for slaughter...by substituting a LATER event for Daniel's Abomination of Desolation
In Matthew 24 Jesus warns his apostles of a WORLDWIDE EXTERMINATION that will require intervention…so the ‘signal’ of its beginning is a critical detail:
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should NO FLESH BE SAVED: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Luke — who was never an apostle of Jesus — keeps his reader complacent because no armies surround Jerusalem at the end…UNTIL “the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty” Revelation 16:14
No fleeing is necessary, because…
“These shall make war with the Lamb, and THE LAMB SHALL OVERCOME THEM: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14
Luke’s shameless ad-libs (in bold) imply a 42 month siege at this time (see Rev. 11:2)…BUT ONLY IN JUDAEA…so now everyone else on Earth can just chill until something happens ‘over there’. You’ve been suckered!

Your premise may have some validity only if someone agrees with your interpretation of the scriptures of which I do not agree and I presume many more will not agree as well. In Matthew 23: 39 was not Christ speaking to the Multitude as well as to His disciples and did he not appear to about 500 over a 40 day period after He was resurrected and then Christ gave John the book of Revelation by a vision?
I do not see why Christ could not also appear to Paul in a vision as well.

Here is something interesting you may have missed in Jeremiah, in verse 31 the New covenant is to be made with both Houses but in verse 33 the covenant of the converting of natures is only with the House of Israel, the House of Judah is not included.
Jeremiah 31:
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant — they – brake, (1)although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

God is putting the Torah in only the House of Israel at this time.

The [Gentile] Samaritan woman at the well was also never told to repent, but was informed that “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEE living water.”
She is waiting for the Messiah who is promised to be a Light to the Gentiles:
