Will the Rapture Happen This October? Maybe...

There are some who deny the rapture, but they would also have to deny the resurrection because they both happen at the same time.  The resurrection is when all dead believers are raised to life.  Then “those that remain and are alive” are caught up (raptured) with them to meet the Lord in the air.  So the dead believers are raised to life and then are raptured up to heaven along with all the alive believers.  It is one event and not two.  This is stated in several places in the Bible, and even Jesus spoke about the resurrection and the rapture.   Immediately after the resurrection/rapture there are no more Christians on the earth.  But soon after, many will become Christians when they realize what just happened.  These are the ones who will have to go through the Tribulation most of whom will be killed for their faith or die from the wars, famine, or sickness and disease.  

Two scriptures that tell us about the resurrection/rapture are:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).

“Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”  (1 Corinthians 15:51-53).

Jesus also spoke about the resurrection/rapture. 

Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.  Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.   Matthew 24:40-41 

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”  John 14:4

“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”  Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”  Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”  John 11:21-26

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’  Matthew 7:21-23

“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out; those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.  John 5:28-29

In these scriptures we see that Jesus spoke about both, the resurrection and the rapture.  But…..when will it happen??

“And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.  For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”  John 6:39-40

But at that time your people everyone whose name is found written in the book will be delivered.  Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.  Daniel 12:1-2   “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”  Daniel 12:13

From these scriptures we see that the resurrection/rapture will happen in the Last Days.  Daniel was told that he would rest, and then rise at the “end of days” to receive his inheritance.    

So from the scriptures we see that it will happen in the Last Days.  But when is that?  It is the Tribulation which is a 7 year period when the devil and his angels are cast down to earth and all hell breaks loose.  The Bible does not say it is a 7 year period, but it does tell us that the Beast (antichrist) will rule the world for the final 3 1/2 years.  This happens halfway through the Tribulation at Revelation 13 which is between the 7th trumpet and the 1st bowl judgment.  From this information we can then say that the entire trumpet and bowl judgments are 7 years long.  Because God works in 7 year cycles, which he established in Deuteronomy 15, the Tribulation will also be a 7 year cycle.  This is important to understand because the Tribulation can only start at the beginning of a new 7 year cycle.  It cannot interrupt another 7 year cycle.  This gives us another clue as to when it will happen.  The 7 seals are opened before the Tribulation and do not have a time period within which they must be fulfilled.  

In Leviticus 23 God established 7 feasts that the Israelites were to observe every year.  These 7 feasts were “rehearsals” for what would come later.  When Jesus arrived, he fulfilled the first 4 of those 7 feasts.  Because of this, we can say that the probability of him fulfilling the last 3 is very good.  After all, this was the purpose of the “rehearsals”.  The next feast that Jesus is to fulfill is the Feast of Trumpets.  This is the Jewish New Year and happens this year on Oct 2 (after sundown) until sundown Oct 4th.  The Jews  celebrate this feast for 2 days and on the last day the trumpet blows one very long blast to end the feast.   Though some say the “last trumpet” reference in 1 Thessalonians 4 is the 7th trumpet of Revelation, I disagree because there is nothing in Revelations that says this.  Therefore it makes more sense that the “last trumpet” is the one blown on the Feast of Trumpets.  This also indicates the start of a new 7 year cycle so it all fits.  If that is the case, then the resurrection/rapture will most likely happen at the last trumpet on the Feast of Trumpets.  But which year???

We know that God established 7 year cycles.  We know that the Tribulation is a 7 year cycle and that it cannot interrupt another 7 year cycle but it must start on a new 7 year cycle, so one would think it should be easy to figure out.  One problem.   We have lost count of the 7 year cycles.  No one knows for sure what year we are in right now.  The Jews say it’s 5776 but that could be out by several years.  Which year of the 7 year cycle are we in?  No on knows for sure.  When is the Jubilee year?   No one knows for sure.  We have lost count of all of these.  This is why it is not possible to pin point which year the resurrection/rapture will happen.  And maybe it’s best that way.  So the resurrection/rapture could happen this year, but I doubt it.  The reason is because the Book of Revelation is written in order.   The 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 bowls all happen In Sequence, one to seven.  Considering world events, we are most likely at the 3rd seal which is economic collapse.  The 4th seal could be ISIS, the 5th seal happens in heaven, and the Tribulation starts at the 6th seal (Rev 6:17).  From this I don’t think the resurrection/rapture will happen this year, maybe next, and maybe even a few years from now.   It all depends on how long it takes us to get through the 3rd and 4th seals, and whether they need to come to completion or not before the next seal is opened.  And whether they need to be major world events or just regional as we see in Venezuela, Greece, Zimbabwe, and soon other countries.  This is why we cannot pin point when the resurrection/rapture will happen, but need to be ready at all times.  The only thing that is quite certain is that it will happen on the Feast of Trumpets.  But which year cannot be determined.  If it does happen this year, are you ready?   If not Click Here.
