The Shroud of Turin Is Exposed! Impossible to Be Authentic!
Sometime in the middle ages there was a discovery made of a shroud which appeared to show the image of a man from face to foot. In 1578, it was moved to Turin Italy and became known as the Shroud of Turin. It shows the image of a bearded man whom many believe to be the image of Jesus Christ.
It has become a great symbol of piety and affection to the faithful who regard the shroud as being THE evidence of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, touting that it is the actual burial cloth that He was wearing at the time of His resurrection.
Since its discovery, it has been regarded by the faithful to be authentic however, Roman Catholic popes through the ages have stopped short of declaring its authenticity up to and including Pope Francis. This doesn’t quell the interest and adoration of the cloth however, and the faithful come from all over the world just to view it.
Scientific observation of the cloth began after the first photographic negative images were made and the carbon dating is said to put its origin to the Middle Ages sometime, giving the skeptics more proof of its fraudulence. If it was authentic, it would be dated to be about 2000 years old.
But what does the written word of God, the King James Bible say about the shroud if anything at all? The burial of Jesus Christ is recorded in all four Gospels but the Gospel of John reveals clues to the method of burial that the other Gospels don’t mention.
Joseph of Arimathaea, a secret disciple of Christ for fear of the Jews begged the body of Jesus which Pilate gave and he and Nicodemus set about the task of the burial of Jesus Christ.
It is said that they took myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds, wound the body of Jesus with strips of linens (but not His head) and applied the “spices” to the linens as was the custom of burial of the Jews in that time. Note: One hundred pounds of myrrh and aloe would be MORE than sufficient to cover the whole body. This method of burial of the Jews was probably learned from the Egyptians.
Three days later, the first day of the week (Sunday) Mary Magdalene ran first to the sepulchre and saw the stone rolled away, then to Peter and John telling them that they had taken Jesus away and the two men ran to the tomb. John stooped and looked inside and “saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in” John 20:5. Then Peter went into the sepulchre and saw the “linen clothes lie”.
Now the bible makes a point of telling that the covering for the head of Jesus was a “napkin” wrapped together in a place by itself. (v.7) (the shroud of Turin clearly shows the face, contradicting Scripture)
Then John went in “and he saw and BELIEVED”. (v.8 emphasis mine) What did he see and why did he suddenly believe? He saw the linen bandages now hardened in the shape of the Body of Jesus Christ (from the myrrh and aloes) sitting, like a body cast, undamaged and EMPTY!
John “saw and believed” because he knew that a miracle had taken place because if someone came and stole the body, the bandages would have been broken apart and damaged but they were intact as Jesus Christ came out of the cast, out of the sepulcher and rose back to life from the dead PROVING to the world that He rose from the grave!
The shroud of Turin, according to the rightful dividing of Scripture is a fraud.
