“If” –“THE” Judgment takes place when Christ returns and it’s heaven or hell time and there are no humans left on earth, not one?
OR
“If” — all the “righteous have been “snatched” to heaven?
OR
“IF” – the wicked are all put in hell at the Return of Christ ?
OR
“IF” – The earth is burned up ?
OR
“IF” — God cast aside all of the seed of Abraham and turned and made heathen/gentiles HIS Chosen People?
Then –
Why is the House of Israel brought out of captivity from the lands of the North to Jerusalem and to in the land God gave to Abraham that they may dwell there in perpetuity?
If any of the above – “If’s” – were true then how can or will the unconditionally promise God made to Abraham of Abraham’s seed — of Abraham’s physical decedents living in the Promised land be fulfilled ?
And why will the earth be restored as THE GARDEN OF EDEN and for whom will it be restored – restored for gentiles’ ?
After reading all of the prophecies quoted in this paper, written by God’s Prophets, describing a Second Exodus which will occurs – after – the return of Jesus Christ – these prophecies could and should cause doubts and confusion concerning everything you have been taught by your Church ?
IF you are troubled by this paper, why not print it out and take it to your minister and go through it line by line with him or her.
Then be prepared to find another church as you may not be welcome back to his church afterwards.
The Second Exodus of Israel to the Promised land
Jeremiah 16: 14 – 15
14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, —-
that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither — he — had driven them: and I will bring them “again” into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
Please take note: the word “Again” is used meaning once more.
Jeremiah is stating no one will talk about the Exodus from Egypt once the 2nd Exodus takes place. Why? The second exodus will dwarf the Exodus of Moses, not 5 million but 50 million or more will travel to Jerusalem after the return of Jesus Christ as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords..
Jeremiah 23: 5 – 8
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch (Jesus Christ), and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
On who will Jesus Christ, KING of Kings, execute judgment and justice in the earth if all are in heaven or hell?
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel —shall dwell safely: –and this [is] his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
If the Church was turned over to the gentiles then which gentiles are Judah i.e. the Jews and which are Israel because both – will — after the Kingdom is set in place and Jesus Christ rules the entire earth will dwell safely in the Promised land as Jeremiah states in chapter 16 and 23?
7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8 But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led —the seed of the house of Israel —out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Jeremiah, in chapter 23, repeats chapter 16 but adds the LORD will bring up the “SEED” of the House of Israel — which gentiles are the physical seed of Jacob/Israel who IS the physical seed of Abraham, that will dwell in their own Land?
Is there a reason God had Jeremiah make the same prophecy twice?
All of the questions posed by this writer are logical and biblically sound – if they can not be logically and scripturally resolved according to your set of beliefs — are you just going to ignore the fact your doctrines are illogical?
Ezekiel 36: 16 – 38
16 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their — “own way”– and by their doings: their “way “ was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols [wherewith] they had polluted it:
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings —– I judged them.
In Leviticus 26 God states HE can and will scatter HIS Chosen People among the Heathen because they refused to obey HIM and honor the Holy Covenant.
Leviticus 26: 33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
Yes both the House of Israel and the House of Judah were taken into captivity long ago and scattered among the gentiles and this is about to take place once more and for the SAME LEGAL reason. According to the terms of the Covenant God has the right to destroy the House of Israel and send them into captivity among the gentile nations when they refuse to repent and return and OBEY. See Leviticus 23: 1 -39 and Deuteronomy 28.
Verse 24 below states both Israel and Judah will be brought into THEIR own land – a small number of Jews have returned to a tiny patch of the Promised Land thus verse 24 is yet future as ALL of Israel and ALL of Judah will be returned to the Promised Land at the return of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ will rule from the Throne of David over the House of Israel forever. 17 For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
I would hope you understand Jesus came, through His mother, from the seed of David – Jesus Christ is a Jew.
The House of Israel and the House of Judah are now two separate nations which Christ will restore as one nation but the House of Israel and specifically the Tribe of Joseph, will rule all 12 tribes.
20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These [are] the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, — and —will bring you into your own land.
God must fulfill the unconditional promise He made to Abraham of Abraham’s seed dwelling in the Land of Promise in perpetuity. And this will be the 2nd time God will take the 12 tribes from captivity among the heathen/gentile nations by an Exodus and brought them into the Promised Land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
A new Nature, the Holy Righteous Divine Nature of GOD will be put in those coming out of captivity as our carnal human nature will and must be removed.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].
- This “DIVINE” NATURE, put into the “converted” by the indwelling of God Spirit, will enable those that receive it to willingly WALK in God’s Statues and keep God’s Judgments. THEY will “DO” THEM.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Verse 28 is yet future – the tiny nation of Israel is NOT the fulfillment of this prophecy as only a small number of Jews and fewer yet from the house of Israel are living in a tiny part of the Promised Land – and they could be evicted at any moment.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that [were] not good, —– and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
What is it that you lothe about yourself? Is it because you can not stop the sin that constantly over takes you? And what is sin and what is iniquity – if not transgressions of the LAW.
32 Not for your sakes do I [this], saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
Gentiles are NOT the House of Israel and CAN NOT take their place and unless gentiles repent and are adopted/grafted into Israel they can never receive salvation — for salvation only comes to and through Israel.
Jeremiah 31: 31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
The New Covenant is ONLY with Israel and Judah.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause [you] to dwell in the cities, and the wastes —— shall be builded.
Understand God is speaking to the House of Israel only. God states HE will cleanse Israel from their iniquities and cause Israel to dwell in the cities in their own land and will rebuild their Land after it has been destroyed.
Those that have accepted the satanic lie God could and has rejected HIS Chosen People will in the future come to know God and to know God can and will save and cleansed HIS Chosen People from all their sins.
If God, after thousands of years of bringing Israel to repentance, cast away Israel forever – he can cast you away as well and if you think your head is not as hard as the Israelites – you do not know your own self.
Read verse 35 below the Promised Land and over time the entire earth will become like the Garden of Eden – And God will do this for Israel and NOT for gentiles.
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are become] fenced, [and] are inhabited.
Joel 2: 3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land [is] as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined [places, and] plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken [it], —- and I will do [it].
Wait a minute “the Heathen/gentiles that are left about you” are going to see the LORD built the ruined places and it will become as the Garden of Eden— did all those folks that were “raptured” to heaven return to earth as flesh and blood?
If not then who is it the gentile/heathen shall see living in the Garden of Eden? There are only two peoples on earth – God’s Chosen and gentiles.
37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be enquired (resorted to) of by the house of Israel, to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
Do not just skim these prophecies read every word.
Psalms 107: 2 – 3
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say [so], whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
The 144,000 and the Great Multitude are “redeemed” by the Blood of Jesus Christ and Christ gathers them out of the gentile nations where they were scattered at the beginning of the captivity.
Acts 20: 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, — which he hath “purchased” with his own blood.
When something is “redeemed” from a pawn shop it is redeemed by the payment of a sum of money.
As we are all under the “condemnation of the Law” which means we are all condemned to death for our sins against God —
And as the Law i.e. the Torah states transgressions of the Law requires the shedding of Blood —- your blood!
It then follows the only legal procedure by which Jesus Christ can “Redeem” us from the written legal document which sentences each of us to death —
Is by His death: by Jesus Christ pouring out HIS BLOOD for us and dying.
“which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
The price for our Redemption is the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
If you think our Father can pardon you from your sentence of death by a doctrine of Grace – you have been deceived by another lie of the father of lies.
ONLY BY THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST CAN OUR SINS BE ATONED.
The vast majority of so called Christianity does not yet understand the above statements. But they will.
Hosea 1; 10-11
10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as—- the sand of the sea, —-which cannot be measured nor numbered; –and it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people,
[there] it shall be said unto them, [Ye are] the sons of the living God.
- Hosea and others make the statement the children of Israel will be in numbers as the sand of the sea, as the dust of the earth and as the stars in the heaven at the time of the end and yet the Jews are only about 20 to 30 million world wide.
So who are these “Children” that are so numerous — if only the Jews are the chosen people? Ask your minister or preacher he will surely have an answer.
11 Then shall the —-children of Judah— and the— children of Israel—be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great [shall be] the day of Jezreel.
It is the children of Israel that will be called: [Ye are] the sons of the living God.
The Children of Judah and the Children of Israel are not gentiles, — if you are leaning toward the false doctrine of “replacement theology” then please point out which gentiles are Judah and which gentiles are Israel.
Better yet point out who the 12 tribes: Judah, Benjamin, Issachar, Manasseh, Ephraim, Levi, Simeon, Reuben, Zebulun, Dan, Asher, Naphtali, Gad are ?
Is Zebulun the Catholics? Is Issachar the Baptist?
- Yes,13 tribes as Joseph is split into two half tribes, Ephraim and Manasseh.
Isaiah 11: 11 -16
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Is the earth full of the knowledge of the LORD today— how do you account then for all the diverse so called Christian sects? 40,000 diverse sects is confusion not knowledge.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; — to it shall the Gentiles seek:— and his rest shall be glorious.
Do you still believe the gentiles are now Israel? Shall the gentiles seek other gentiles?
11 And it shall come to pass —– in that day, [that] — the Lord shall set his hand again —- the second time —to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
All of the above nations and peoples from which the LORD will gather HIS people —– are gentile.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah — from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
Again, who is ”Ephraim” and who is “Judah” if gentiles are now the “Church” and if God has turned His back forever on HIS Chosen People?
Which of the 40,000 kinds of Christian churches filled with gentiles are Ephraim and which are Judah?
Do you even know who Ephraim is? Do you know God calls Ephraim HIS first Born.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make [men] go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
It is by this Highway that the children of Israel shall return to Jerusalem and to the Promised Land and this return is the Second Exodus.
Isaiah 27: 12 -13
12 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt,—
and ye shall be gathered one by one, —- O ye children of Israel.
13 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
At the end of the seventh and Last Trump Christ returns and frees the captives and the 2nd exodus takes place.
- Daniel in chapter 12 speaks of 1335 days: 1260 + 75 = 1335. The 75 Days are the time of the 2nd Exodus.
The 7 years time of the end is divided into two parts of 1260 days each and at the end of the final 1260 day period the 2nd Exodus occurs.
Isaiah 35: 1 -10
1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, [and] the excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
4 Say to them [that are] of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, [even] God [with] a recompence; —– he will come and save you.
Please point out how any of these scriptures could possibly be describing a rapture.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
THEN they will understand the Word of GOD, but not until.
6 Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes.
8 And an highway shall be there, and — a way,– and it shall be called — The way of holiness;—- the unclean shall not pass over it; but it [shall be] for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err [therein].
9 No lion shall be there, nor [any] ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; ——but the redeemed shall walk [there]:
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Those “ransomed” by the blood of Jesus Christ, those that repented during the fire of the Great Tribulation will return to Jerusalem with joy and gladness, “the Great Multitude”, the remnant of the 12 tribes and some converted gentiles as well, will come to the Promised Land by a highway called; The WAY of HOLINESS and that return is the Second Exodus.
Isaiah 66: 15 – 24
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh:
and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
There are many today that do not know Jesus Christ — they think He is a weak and mild little fellow that just “LOVES”; that would not harm a fly.
Jesus Christ returns as a — warrior — KING and HE will slay MANY HIMSELF.
17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one [tree] in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
So you think eating pig is now OK? NOPE! It is still and always will be an abomination in God’s eyes.
18 For I [know] their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, [to] Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, [to] Tubal, and Javan, [to] the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren [for] an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, —-
as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
Those cleaned in the fire of Great Tribulation will come to Jerusalem as Clean Vessels i.e. Converted Saints of God — this is the 2nd Exodus.
21 And I will also take of them for priests [and] for Levites, saith the LORD.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, — which I will make,– shall remain before me, (for ever)—saith the LORD, (then) so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
So do you still believe the Sabbath was abolished or changed to the day of the Sun? When Christ returns all flesh will worship Christ on the Sabbath.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
This takes place “after” the Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty which occurs at HIS Return.
Amos 9
11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, —-and I will build it as in the days of old:
12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.
The 12 tribes will “possess”, own, the heathen/gentiles as slaves.
13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
14 “And I will bring again” (#7725 to turn back) the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
15 And I will plant them upon “their” land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
Those still undecided concerning the above,—– if there really is a 2nd Exodus, why not ask your minister.
Print out this paper and take it to him or her and go through it line by line.
And then go find another church to attend.
The above only scratches the surface – there is much more.
Why not study the Second Exodus on your own and prove for your own self where it be the Truth?

This same scattering and gathering is a major theme of the prophet Isaiah. In Isaiah chapter 11 we read: “12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” Then, for just another example, we may see the Word of Yahweh in Isaiah chapter 43: “1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine…. 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west.” It is these same outcasts of Israel of whom Zechariah speaks here when he wrote “7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; 8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.”
With these prophecies it should also be apparent that if Christ came to gather His people, yet the Jews had been scattered after His ministry, as Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD, then the Jews simply cannot be His people. Rather, His enemies were scattered according to His Word, and His people became Christians.
We have already cited Jeremiah chapter 33:24-26 in regard to this scattering and gathering. But there are three other passages of Jeremiah which stand out as witnesses to this same scattering and gathering, and which are also related to the promise of the New Covenant found in Jeremiah chapter 31. First, Yahweh is recorded as having told the children of Israel through the prophet in Jeremiah chapter 29: “14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.” Then Yahweh addresses the nations in general, where He affirms the promise of the gathering of Israel just before the promise of the New Covenant with Israel, and He says in Jeremiah chapter 31: “10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.” The last passage we will cite from Jeremiah in this regard is from Jeremiah chapter 32, where Yahweh says: “37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.”
None of these promises of scattering and gathering were directed at the people now known as Jews. Rather, the scattering was spoken of in the past tense by all the later prophets, and even in the time of Isaiah who lived to see it. Isaiah wrote up to the time of Hezekiah, when Israel and most of Judah had already been taken captive by the Assyrians. Jeremiah likewise wrote over 600 years before the so-called diaspora of the Jews when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. The real scattering of true Israel began with the Exodus and ended with the captivity of the remnant in Babylon, which only consisted of a small portion of Judah who were not taken by the Assyrians.
So in Jeremiah chapter 23 we read that Israel is already scattered: “1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. 2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.” And then, on the other hand, we have Jeremiah chapter 31 where Yahweh says “He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.” We see this same theme repeated in Ezekiel chapter 34: “1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. 4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.”
The scattered children of Israel are exclusively the sheep of Yahweh’s pasture, as we have seen them described in Jeremiah and Ezekiel. The identity of the sheep was never changed from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and therefore Christ Himself professed in Matthew chapter 15 that “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” He was sent to make reconciliation to Israel, as it says in Psalm 74: “O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?”
Israel was already scattered by the time of Jeremiah and Ezekiel, and none of them were ever called Jews. When they were scattered, they were practicing what we now look back on and call paganism. The Bible refers to paganism as idolatry, and allegorically as fornication or harlotry because the nation as a whole is the wife of Yahweh its God. So in that manner the apostle James address his epistle to the “twelve tribes scattered abroad”, and Paul in Acts chapter 26 distinguished them from Jews where he said “6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers: 7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.” Therefore the Jews are not the twelve tribes, and the twelve tribes are distinct from the Jews.
For this reason, that the actual tribes of Israel are to be gathered to Christ, when Christ speaks of the resurrection He does not speak of gentiles, and He does not speak of some replacement for Israel, or so-called “spiritual” Israel. Rather, in Matthew chapter 19 He speaks of the twelve tribes of Israel, that it is they whom the apostles would preside over, where He said “Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Likewise He is recorded as having said in Luke chapter 22: “28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. 29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
For this same reason, the City of God described in the Revelation has the names of the twelve tribes of Israel on its gates. It is only those twelve tribes who will be gathered into the Kingdom of God, as we read in Matthew chapter 25: “31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world…” This plan of God from the foundation of the world was for a kingdom of the children of Israel at the exclusion of all other peoples, fulfilling the promises Yahweh made to Abraham. So it says in Isaiah chapter 27, “6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.” Ultimately, the sheep all go to the Kingdom of God, and the goats all go to Hell: to the proverbial Lake of Fire never to be seen again.

11 But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
This is an offering to the remnant of the people who returned to build the second temple, that the period of punishment would be lifted if they heeded the prophets, Zechariah and Haggai. The “residue of this people” would be just that, those who remained in Jerusalem to effect the will of God in the second temple period. But we must not lose sight of the fact that the very purpose of this second temple and the 70-weeks kingdom is to effect the greater promises of God and the reconciliation of all Israel. So we shall see the direction of the prophecy widen in scope as it proceeds.
But before we proceed, we must take notice that this prophecy also has an immediate and an ultimate meaning, a near vision and a far vision. Where it admonishes the men to heed the prophets “that the temple might be built”, and recounts prophecies and admonishments relating to how the people of Israel had treated one another in the past, the temple which is referenced is not merely the brick-and-mortar temple. Rather, it is referring to the body of the people themselves, the true temple of God found in the scattered children of Israel. That temple would be built as the ultimate result of the second temple and the 70-weeks Kingdom. In this aspect we read:
12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
The seed here is not merely agrarian seed, but rather it speaks collectively of all of Israel, which becomes evident in the verse which follows. As the Word of Yahweh says in Isaiah chapter 45, “17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end” and “25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.” However here there is also an immediate fulfillment in the remnant at Jerusalem, which prospered through the several centuries down to the time of Christ. But after accepting the Gospel of Christ, the nations of scattered Israel had also prospered, and considering all of Israel, the people scattered among the nations may also be considered “the remnant of this people”.

For the sins of Israel, at the end of Zechariah chapter 7 Yahweh said that He “scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not”, and the prophet opens this chapter where the Word of God had come to him and said “I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury…. I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.” The prophecy which follows, which describes children playing and people inhabiting the streets of Jerusalem, had a near-term fulfillment. But as we have already discussed, it also has a far-reaching fulfillment in Christ, which was the very purpose of the building of the second temple. So in verses 7 and 8 of this chapter we read: “7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; 8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.” This cannot describe the 70-weeks Kingdom, and it never happened during that period. As Daniel chapter 9 explains, the existence of the 70-weeks Kingdom and the ministry of Christ conducted there made possible the gathering and reconciliation of the children of Israel and the remission of their sins. Jerusalem in this prophetic aspect refers not to the city in Palestine, which was slated for destruction, but to the seats of government of the people of God wherever they may be.
