The Antichrist: We Were Warned by Cardinal Newman

Traditionalists don’t like Newman. He was the most conservative catholic ever. His conservativism was grounded in his study of Church fathers which also led him from COE to Rome.

Once Newman realised Rome was in apostolic theological tradition and that COE was a protestant group (remember his Oxford movement circular 39 or was it 41, can’t remeber right now, that had him severly reprimaneded by COE bishops including the bishop of Oxford that was in 1841), he converted* and became priest in the Oratory of st Phillip Neri.

His book “On development of christian doctrine” is to theology what Darwin’s origin of species is to Sciences like biology. Both of them postulated that theology/species were not* stationary and unchangebale since the start/creation. Both postulate that species adapted/theology evolved to stay the same.

I graduated writing about blessed Newman at theology and now hope to finnish my masters writing about saint Newman. Through Newman I discovered St Phillip Neri, the oratory and the TLM.
