In reference “fire being a good thing” in the bible, I suppose that’s a matter of perspective. I’m sure the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah were probably not too thrilled to have fire and brimstone raining down on them and their children. The God of the Old Testament strikes me h as quite a Sadist, and I question if he wasn’t actually Satan. The God Jesus speaks of in the gospels certainly seems to be a far cry from that tyrant.
