‘The book is open and the hand writes…’
What this means is that there is a book that records all human affairs. It is not a mythical notion and we need not abandon reason to understand. We are all given names and birthdates, and we organize ourselves in society by different names/numbers, colors and symbols.
Every name is recorded and every action associated with that name is recorded in the book, as the hand writes… even if someone were to use a false name, the actions tied to their alias are recorded.

All of the trouble in the book of Esther starts with Queen Ashti.
She wont appear before king in his court, amoung all his subjects, to proudly display her beauty and adorn her crown. She wont do it. And this causes all kinds of problems for the king’s ministers cuz nobody has ever done this before.
The ring is the key to the story. The signet ring, the ability to take the trust of the king and then do whatever you want through executive action fiat.
King Ahasuerus decides to hold a contest to find a new queen. Esther wins that contest.
But before that happens we have to talk about Mordecai. He first gains favor with the king by uncovering a plot to kill the king by the evil Teresh and Bigthan. The king rewards Mordecai by giving him a job at the palace gate.
Mordecai is Esther’s uncle and also her step father. Mordecai is the king comes to know Esther
Haman, descendant of Agag king of the Amelekites, is the king’s right hand. Think Game of Thrones. Ahasuerus is Xerxes, so think 7 foot tall tranny from the movie 300.
Haman has it in his blood to go after the Israelies. He wants to wipe them off the map. And he plans to do this through signet ring executive action. Little does the king know that Haman is planning to kill his Queen Esther’s family and descendants.

So then… Xerxes decides to reverse the genocide directive to Haman’s family and group instead. They all get put on stakes.
Mordecai becomes the new hand of the king with the signet ring.
The evil ones, in addition to being songbirds, they love story and acting even more. And as a way of organizing themselves, they take on different roles related to different stories. Some take on multiple roles. And it wouldn’t be fun if there weren’t two sides competing to be every character. A good Mordecai and a bad, bad Mordecai, for example.
Now before we get into who might be playing which character in the book of Esther, for whatever reason… it’s best that we understand the characters involved, what is the arc of the story? What is the game being played?
Whoever, in the end, is Mordecai wins and Haman gets the stake.
And what does Mordecai win? The ring, the power of executive action.
