Breaking News (6/24/2023): Lukashenko Saves the Day — Prigozhin Calls Off Mutiny in Russia

Doesn’t pass the sniff test. Prigozhin seems a bit disingenuous claiming the invasion of Ukraine was all done under false pretense and was unnecessary. While simplification and lies may have been used on recruits, info and public statements abound on all media about the early massing of Ukraine forces near the Russian border, attacks on Russian enclaves inside Ukraine, threats of joining NATO, and the plan to install missile defenses inside Ukraine which can very rapidly be outfitted as missile offenses for a nuclear first strike against Russia. Then there is the extensive public efforts by Russia to defuse the situation prior to invasion, followed by NATO’s complete unwillingness to negotiate in any reasonable way. NATO also shot down any attempts at a truce between Ukraine and Russia early on in the war.

Hal Turner cites an analyst who believes this was a cover for large and quick troop movements and defense against NATO, as a prelude to an overwhelming attack on Ukraine. Another possibility is that the real mutiny was by Shoigu and others in the MOD. Perhaps Putin preempted action to quash a planned mutiny by having Prigozhin head toward Moscow to secure it and get rid of the conspirators. Putin now has ammo to get rid of the possible actual mutineers. If this has now been accomplished, that may be why Prigozhin may be headed to Belarus. Also, bear in mind Prigozhin knowingly sealed his and his men’s probable deaths if he truly rebelled, merely to make a political statement and vent his outrage. I’m not sure what actually took place, but I don’t believe Prigozhin’s public statements, other than that his men may have been fired upon by Russian forces.
