A Mid East Prophecy Update from the President of the I Am A Watchman Ministry

Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7. Israel has struck back and is clearing out Gaza. Hezbollah has opened up a front in the north and has hit Tel Aviv with rocket fire.  Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and Iran are threatening to jump into the fray. The U.S. has sent 2 Aircraft carrier strike groups to the area. The UK has sent a destroyer.

Russia’s fingerprints are everywhere. China has sent a warship to the region. 

Is this the Gog-Magog War? No.  

The conflict in the Middle East is setting the prophetic stage for the destruction of Damascus and the Gog-Magog war–but the time is not yet. The Rapture can happen at any time. Read on to learn more. 

Conflict is building and expanding. What follows is a brief summary of what the Bible says is on the prophetic horizon:

1. Damascus will be destroyed (Isa. 17).   

2. Russia, Iran, Turkey, and other Arab states (such as Yemen) will form a military coalition.

3. The coalition noted above will attack Israel (Ezekiel 38-39). However, when that happens, Israel will be at peace (Ezek. 38:11), which is not the case right now. When the coalition begins to move against Israel, America will offer a warning to the potential invaders but do nothing more. This is NOT what we are seeing now (we have significant dollars and resources committed to the current conflict). So, before that happens, either America will have new leadership not inclined to help, the USA will be occupied with another conflict (perhaps with China), or America will be overcome by a natural catastrophe and thus be unwilling or unable to respond.

4. It seems that after the destruction of Gaza and Damascus, the Arab world will cry for Israel’s destruction. As they contemplate next steps, a new world leader (later to be known as the Antichrist) will step on the world stage and lead in brokering a peace agreement that brings about a temporary peace to the Middle East (and likely gives Israel the green light to rebuild the Temple on the Temple Mount). 

5. When Israel has a sense of peace, a coalition of forces, led by Russia, will attack in what Bible scholars refer to as the Gog-Magog war (profiled in Ezeiel 38-39). God will intervene and Israel will prevail.

6. BEFORE the peace agreement is signed, the Lord will take away/”catch up” true believers in an event known as the RAPTURE. Thus, believers will be taken to heaven and escape the terrible trials and tribulations coming to the earth and profiled in the book of Revelation (chapters 6-19).

Many believe the Rapture is imminent–I believe we should live like it is. No prophecies need to be fulfilled BEFORE the Rapture occurs. We must be ready and we must have a spiritual concern for the many who will be left behind. 

Scripture notes there will be a great revival in the last days. But how will these new followers of Christ learn and grow in the faith when Christian resources, gatherings, and programming will be banned by the Antichrist?
