Illinois Rep. Mike Bost goes ballistic on the house floor after becoming fed up with repeatedly being forced to vote on bills that no one has even got to read.

Too Many Forced Votes On Surprise Bills Sends Lawmaker Into Epic Rage

Fed up with the endless tirade of corruption Illinois Rep. Mike Bost flipped out on the floor in what the Washington Post’s is calling  “one of the great political rants you’ll ever see” and the Chicago-Sun says has turned him into an instant folk hero.

“Total power in one person’s hand, not the American way!” Bost began his rant as he was once again being forced into a pension reform bill that no one got the chance to read.

“Enough! I feel like somebody trying to be released from Egypt. Let my people go! .. I’m trapped by rules that have been forced down our throats.”

Bost has since commented saying he has no regrets because “People have to know that we’ve been under this tyranny of Madigan writing the rules for all these years”, which repeatedly prevents debate on bills that are introduced by the House Speaker without the chance for them to be read or debate.

In this video he explains to CNN why he flipped out.

Of course, many Americans were witness to the same exact course of action during the Obama-care debate in congress.

The corporate media made excuses for the Congress at that time explaining the failure to read the bill was an extraordinarily rare exception because of “emergency” time constraints.

However, the truth is Illinois is not alone with this problem and the Obamacare wasn’t an extraordinary exception.

We saw the same thing again when the stimulus was voted on without anyone reading it.

Quite to the contrary, as Senator Jim Demint explains, 94% of the bills passed in the US Senate are passed completely in  secret in almost this exact manner.

He explains how bills are sent to the Senate in the dead of night that no one has ever seen or read, with no one knowing the price tag for the bills, or even who requested the bills to be passed.

Those in the Senate who do not agree to pass these bills in secrecy with no debate, chance to read them or chance to offer amendments are subject to political backlash from their political parties.

Perhaps even worse is that not only are these bills being passed without reading them, they are being passed without anyone voting on them.

A surprise bill can simply be introduced for “unanimous consent” late at night and if no one objects to it by the morning it gets passed!

Sadly we see the problem is not limited to Illinois as the vast majority of legislation in Congress is passed the same way.

Not only does Congress pass bills without reading them but an overwhelming majority are passed in secret without anyone even voting on them.

Clearly are political system has been completely hijacked and it is not hyperbole to say that the power of our government has been concentrated within the hands of very few decision makers who pull strings and call the shots from behind the scenes.
