Everyone does not belong at Nextdoor.com in contradiction to Nextdoor dot com CEO’s latest post, “A Nextdoor Where Everyone Belongs.”

The answer to racism is the same as it has always been—love. True love is unconditional love (agape), love that exists and is manifest in spite of one’s feelings. True love is manifest regardless of ones’s momentary feeling, feelings that are subject to change based on how someone treats you, or circumstances involving others. The reality of this love has been lost in the dialogue of the modern milieu. Confusion reigns in the social order, or lack thereof (order), concerning love. There is so much confusion that the call to love is being drowned out by the shrill calls for destruction. If we can’t have dialog (and understand the difference between the four kinds of love) about the need for love, that love is the only answer, then we can expect no real change. We can expect more of the same. Nothing but a temporary treatment of the wound that is being dressed, instead of a holistic approach to address the source of the disease.

If we do not address the fallen state of man and his need for redemption through love, then the sad state of affairs will continue upon the path of destruction, to despair, and perdition.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke these words of love, communicating his understanding of love:

Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love… Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy, instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

It was upon the cornerstone of love that Martin Luther King Jr. heralded the poetic cry, his vision, his dream, his desire to see man respecting man —created in the image of God, living in harmony.

History is replete with men and women laying down their life, motivated by love, desiring love, seeking love for their fellow man.

We would do well to recognize the imperative to do the same. In so doing, we would be on the right side of history in doing, taking action, no matter how small, to love in deed not merely word.

These men, these leaders, are motivated by love, understand the futility of the modern fraud of so called “systematic racism” and the destruction of social order by those whose weapon is hate, hatred of humanity itself, hatred of a future and a hope, hatred of a place of prosperity, the place where the rule of law protects humanity, regardless of the pigment of skin. A united state of people whose intent is to love and judge actions — the content of one’s deeds, the result of their character, is and always will be the solution to any obstacle confronted between men.

In my neighborhood, I extend love regardless of ethnicity, creed, or socio-economic status. In my neighborhood I recognize that we are all created equal. In my neighborhood, I recognize the right to pursue “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. As such, I recognize the right to self-determine the means to protect and provide for my family.

The key to understanding is dialogue and communication. The lack thereof leads to misunderstanding, isolation, and division.

Love, life, liberty, happiness, prosperity, are the root of the American Dream. The pursuit and living of the American Dream is lived out in neighborhoods.

Neighborly, friendly, kind, courteous, respectful, cordial discussion is at the heart of the American Dream, where convictions are debated in the marketplace of ideas, pursuant to attaining happiness along the way of Life.

The height of arrogance and disrespectful behavior is silencing voices of love. Censoring is the ultimate form of hate.

Nextdoor.com disrespects Americans and the patriotism enshrined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Nextdoor.com does not value freedom of speech. Nextdoor.com does not value the gathering of certain people for the redress of their grievances. Nextdoor.com selectively enforces public gatherings, and the free exercise of speech.

Nextdoor.com may be next door, but they are not neighborly, they are not friendly, and they do emulate the apex of neighborliness—love.

This trend toward repression of American virtues is the mark of social media. Censorship is the mark social media. Hatred of goodness is the hallmark of social media. Goodness is the hallmark of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Social media is the hallmark of social decay, as isolation is not only encouraged but enforced, per company “values”.

Not everyone belongs at Nextdoor.com as is evidenced by the lack of action to respect all patrons, while offering mere words of display, for pretense of character worthiness.
