Dealing with Junkyard Dogs

Every auto junkyard I have been too has a mean,dirty and blood thirsting dog ready to defend the junk in the yard. I remember coming in contact with a dirty vicious bloodletting doberman pinscher, it scared me to death, fortunately he was on a short leash. So suddenly I felt relief with a surge of boldness to tempt this dog by yelling at him ” YOU CAN’T GET ME”. Well if that isn’t stupidity wrapped up in a layer of dumbness I don’t know what is.

Junkyard dogs come in many different sizes and shapes, now I’m not talking about dogs,rather I ‘m speaking figuratively. Junkyard dogs can be bad bosses, bad marriages, addictions, government leaders, and even ourselves. It’s difficult to deal with these dogs, wouldn’t it be helpful just to put a choke collar around the neck of that person, circumstance or even your bad habits.

There is something better than a choke collar and it works without causing  anyone discomfort. The device is called the Bible  and it repeatedly says the junkyard dogs in our life come from three different sources . In John 2:16 names them ” For everything in the world, the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does…” Jesus dealt with some powerful junkyard dogs in His ministry,but actually early on He dealt with the main dog-Satan. Matthew writes about the biggest fight of all history found in Matthew 4:1-11. For every vicious attack, Jesus held his composure and look at his enemy and said “It is written”, every time Satan came at him the Word of God was spoken  applying the divine choke collar around the neck of his vicious, bloodletting, opponent. Satan was dealt with and Jesus was victorious. Now your junkyard dogs are not your bosses, your spouse, your children or the government the main enemy is Satan, the Tempter, the accuser and the Devil. Use the Word of God and watch your junkyard dog flee with its tail between its legs.
