People of Omission

We are creatures of omission: we like to leave  people out who offend us and issues which make us uneasy. We even leave Jesus out from our lives. This habit of leaving things or people out isn’t confined to the irreligious,  but also the believer. We leave out prayer when life is uneventful and   Bible reading when it becomes boring and common place. Church life seems to be the first thing  left out, especially when we’re offended. The things that should be left out are those things which block our lines of communication with God and with each other: anger, jealously and pride. These destroy families, friends and churches. The Apostle Paul tells us to put off the old man; in other words, leave him out, get rid of him, and put him to death. Then put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. The choice of omission is up to you: put off the old man or put on the new creature
