Abortion Activists Storm Church Chanting: “If Mary had known about abortion, we wouldn’t have this nonsense”

In an act of extreme hatred and blasphemy, a group of pro-abortion activists stormed a Christian pro-life conference being held at a church in Quebec, Canada chanting highly offensive anti-Christian slogans after getting past the church doors. As the news reports detail:

“The church door was locked to keep the protesters out, but as one of the conference participant left the building during the morning session, the protesters took advantage of the open door and snuck in,” said Georges Buscemi, president of Quebec Life Coalition, to LifeSiteNews.com.

The pro-abortion protesters stormed the stairwell leading to the conference hall, but were stopped short by the conference doors that had just been barricaded.

“One of our people physically blocked the doors to prevent the protesters from entering,” said Buscemi.  The pro-abortion groups provided free transportation to what they told participants would be an “action pacifique théâtrale” (peaceful action drama). Buscemi said that about 20 young people from the ages of 16 to 25 showed up outside the conference building around 8 a.m. with banners that supported “reproductive choice”.

Upon reached the barricaded doors of the conference hall, the protesters clapped and stamped, shouting slogans for 10 minutes before police reinforcements arrived and were able to intervene.  Behind the barricaded doors, conference attendees heard the protesters chanting the equivalent in French of “It’s my body, my choice”.

They also heard chanted a French pro-abortion sing-song against the Virgin Mary: “Ah si Marie avait connu l’avortement, on n’aurait pas tous ces emmerdements” (“Oh, If Mary had known about abortion, we wouldn’t have to deal with all this nonsense.”) (source).

The Quebec Life Coalition holds an annual conference to work on changes in Quebec society to protect the lives of the unborn. The 2012 conference was focused on a proposed bill in the Quebec House of Parliament that: “ that seeks to revise the definition of a human being as found in Canada’s Criminal Code, so that it becomes consistent with our current understanding of fetal development. Currently, section 223. 1 of the code stipulates that a “child becomes a human being once it has completely exited, alive, the mother’s womb.” (source)

The Quebec Life Coalition also provides counseling for women considering having an abortion as well as a directory and easy guides for adoption of babies as an alternative to aborting them. As their conference approached, Pastor Stephane Gagne, one of the leaders of the QLC , said he was concerned about potential trouble when he was notified of an “action alert” posted on the web to rally a protest of the annual conference. The alert recommended a “peaceful action drama” be staged at the “anti abortion and homophobic” event. The protestors stormed the church through barricades while Gagne was preaching:

“So much for their ‘peaceful’ demonstration and to Hell with [their notion of] respect… I myself was delivering my lecture when the commotion and shouting prevented me from continuing,” he wrote on a blog.
Once police reinforcements arrived, the protesters were expelled from the church building. ” Although the official report says that the protesters did not resist, the fact is they refused to obey the officers who at first asked them to leave the building,” wrote Gagné. (source)

From the beginning of the Bible, God has declared that life begins at conception:

If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me; What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him? Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb? – Job 31:13-15.

The killing of unborn babies in the womb is a sin that society today has taken to the extreme. In ancient times child sacrifice was a staple of pagan, satanic worship. Today, the sacrifice of the unborn has taken its place, as people worship the god of their own design. People offer all sorts of justifications for killing the unborn, but the conscience says otherwise. Under the “Our Philosophy” section of their website. The Quebec Life Coalition states:

Our hedonistic society wrongly equates goodness with pleasure, evil with pain, thereby wrongly concluding that anything that requires sacrifice and suffering is evil. No wonder that more and more people opt to kill (themselves or the child in the womb) rather than suffer: a mother will kill her child, or a father will push his partner to abort, to avoid the suffering and hardships that bearing a child in sub-optimal circumstances brings; a man will kill himself, or a family will isolate and virtually push a family member to suicide, to avoid the hardships involved in caring for a sick person.

For inspiration in this difficult battle we draw on Christian revelation and on the Natural Law, that is, on the Law written on every human heart. This is the law that says: “It is wrong to kill” and “Do to others as you would have them do to you”. We hold that no matter what society thinks is right, there is always the conscience, there is always the heart, that is whispering “killing the unborn is wrong”, or “committing suicide is wrong.” (source)

The Bible explains that the “natural law” is the human conscience:

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; – Romans 2:14-15.

Even without reading the Bible or knowing the Gospel, all people of sound mind can know that the murdering of innocents is wrong. Because God has written the natural law in the hearts of all people, also known as the conscience. But when a person is in sinful rebellion against God, not only can they ignore sin, the conscience can become “seared with a hot iron” and numb to sin to the point that they seek to blaspheme Jesus Christ Himself, by suggesting He should have been murdered via abortion (as these protestors did with their chant about Mary).

If, as the action flier suggests, the pro-abortion activists thought the conference was “homophobic” or “anti-abortion” why answer that with hateful speech against Christianity? Why break the law and storm the building? How is this being “tolerant” and “un-bigoted” as many who oppose Christianity claim to be?  Again, as the world falls deeper into sinful rebellion against God, the open hostility against those who follow Jesus Christ will only increase.

The good news is that despite this horrible act, they can all be forgiven. Jesus Christ was indeed born and did live and He gave His life willingly, so that all people, even those who blaspheme Him can be forgiven if they believe and put their faith in Him. Pray for those who carried out this act, or are ardent supporters of abortion or those who maybe have gotten an abortion themselves, to realize that God loves them and is ready and waiting to forgive them of their sins if they are willing to acknowledge them and believe on His Son Jesus Christ. And He even used the example of a mother and a newborn child to demonstrate that we can always turn to Him, once we humbly seek His mercy:

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. – Isaiah 49:15.
