This brings to mind what Albert Pike had to say about this regarding HOW Christianity AND Atheism will be destroyed. He wrote the following:

The “pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view” is, of course, the arrival of the Anti-Christ in none other than what is called, “The Glory of God,” or in other words, a UFO as revealed by a close psychic friend of mine back in 1988.
After the arrival, the Great Apostasy occurs as prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 in the KJV. It’s described as a “falling away.” The multitude including Christians and Atheists will turn their allegiance to the Anti-Christ.
It’s interesting to note that the final Pope, Peter of Rome will lead the charge and join the Anti-Christ. He is known as the False Prophet. The second to the last Pope is in power now, Pope Benedict XVI.
So, this end time scenario is very near.

The falling away has been going on for nearly 2,000 years:

The crunch for mainstream Christians is that they cannot accept The Truth that the Father has to call them to His Son. They want to believe that THEY accept a ‘Jesus’ as their saviour i.e. it’s all down to them. This is salvation on man’s terms not on The Father’s terms. This means there can be no substance to their beliefs so they’re always falling away when the going gets tough. The last of the last days will bring about the biggest falling away.
Put one up attacking Judaism, and the billboard company would be put out of business the next day. Put one up attacking Islam, and the billboard company’s owners would be beheaded. Put one up against Christianity, and you’ll receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
You’re confusing apples with oranges.
The falling away can only occur WITHIN Christianity, it cannot occur within the secular world i.e. the lost cannot fall away as they are already fallen – they’re lost. Hence they will give Nobel Peace Prizes to those who attack Christianity.

Christmas is not a Christian festival but a pagan one that celebrates the birth of the new sun on 25th December.
Every year in the northern hemisphere the sun drops to the lowest point on the horizon on 21st December, the winter solstice. The sun does not appear to move for 3 days, hence the 3 days in the cave/grave/tomb, followed by a resurrection/rebirth on the 25th. Because by the 25th the sun can be clearly observed to be climbing back up again from it’s lowest point.
