The One True GOD - But, There Are Two of Them! Allah or Yahweh?

Christians follow the scriptures of the Bible as given by Yahweh, the Great I Am, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (renamed Israel), and of His uniquely begotten son, the Christ, the promised seed of Abraham, the Messiah (Jesus).

Muslims believe in Allah, who they claim is the one true God of the prophet Mohammed (var.sp. Muhammad, or Muhammed), and that the scriptures given miraculously to  Mohammed are the final testament of Allah, and are collectively the Qur’an (Koran). 

Both of the claims – that there is only one true God – are correct.  The problem is that the scriptures of the one true God – either Allah or Yahweh – do not agree.

If Allah and Yahweh are one and the same God, as many people loosely claim, then they must speak the same words, else Allah will contradict Yahweh, and vice versa, and therefore cannot be the same God.  God cannot stand against himself.

As there are a great many statements in both the Bible and the Qur’an that are contradictory, then the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose name is Yahweh, is not the same God of Mohammed who is called Allah.  For instance:

1.  The Qur’an teaches that God told the angels to bow down and worship man.

“Verily We created man of potter’s clay of black mud altered, and the Jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter’s clay of black mud altered, so, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together save Iblis [Satan]. He refused to be among the prostrate. He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? He said: Why should I prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter’s clay of black mud altered? He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for verily thou art outcast. And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgement.”  (Qu’ran, Surah 15:26-35, emp. added, also cf. 2:34; 7:11-12; 17:61; 18:51; 20:116; 38:72-78)

“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matt. 4:10. KJV (also Ex. 20:1-3; Deu. 6:13; 10:20.)

Yahweh forbids any worship of man.  See also Acts 10:25-26; 14:14-15.  The Bible also teaches that man is not to worship angels (Col. 2:18; Rev. 19:10; Rev. 22:8-9)  Just as certainly, angels (created by God) are not to worship man (created by God).  (The section of the Qur’an quoted above actually portrays the behavior of Iblis (Satan) as biblically correct.)  The Bible teaches that only deity is to be worshipped.

2. The Qur’an says that Jesus is only the son of Mary, and only a messenger, and is not the son of God, as God would not have sexual relations with a woman, and therefore would not physically beget a son. The Qur’an teaches that Jesus is only a prophet of God. (Sura 19:21; 4:171; 43:59; 3:42-52)

While God certainly did not have sexual relations with Mary, the Bible teaches that Jesus was created through the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:18), that he was uniquely begotten of God (John 3:16), and the Son of the living God (Matt. 16:16).  The Qur’an’s teaching contradicts the central core of the scriptures of Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel), that Jesus was the savior of all mankind, the sacrificial Lamb of God who took on the sins of all the world so that man could be restored to God through Jesus Christ, who is now our only intercessor and mediator with God. (John 1:29, 36; Acts 2:36; 1 John 1 -3; Rev. 13:8; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24 – citing only a few)

3.  The Qur’an teaches that Jesus was not crucified.

“And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him-they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him. Instead, GOD raised him to Him; GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. (Sura 4:157-158)

This directly contradicts the word of God from the Bible as can be seen in the testimony the Holy Spirit as recorded in the gospels in Matt. 27:26-35; Mark 15:16-37; Luke 23:1-46; John 19:1-30, and confirmed again in Acts 2:22-36, as well as many other scriptures.

4.  The Qur’an teaches that your place in heaven is assured by doing good works, so that you earn your place in heaven. (Sura 23:102-103)

Contrarily, the Bible teaches that we as sinners can do nothing to earn our reward, that it is only through God’s grace that we have the opportunity to accept His offer of Jesus’ righteousness by being baptized into Christ, we can be covered by His blood, and be clothed with His righteousness, and then our sins can be forgiven.  (Acts 2:38; Rom. 3:25, 1 Cor. 5:7; 2 Cor. 15:24-28; Col. 1: 19-20 citing only a few)

Moreover, the Bible tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and there is nothing we can do of our own doing to make up for these sins, to pay God back for them.  Only Christ was sinless, and therefore only Christ could buy us back, redeem us.  (Rom. 3:12, 23; Luke 1:68; Gal. 3:13, 4:5; Titus 2:14)

Therefore, the scriptures of Yahweh teach that as no man can be good of his own works, he must be clothed with the goodness (righteousness) of Christ to be able to stand before God.  So, the only good God can see is Christ’s righteousness.  You will never be good enough on your own. 

The Qur’an teaches a system of works, which contradicts the scriptures of the Holy Spirit given to us in the Bible.

There are many more examples which could be brought forward, but these are enough to prove that the God of the Bible, Yahweh, does not speak the same as the god of the Qur’an, Allah.  Therefore, they are not one and the same!

The Muslims teach that there is only one true God, but they believe that god is Allah.  The only proof they offer is that the Qur’an was miraculously given to Mohammed through violent forceful action by the angel Gabriel against the man Mohammed, who then submitted and received revelations from Allah, which he then began speaking, or dictating to others, and then stated that his proof was that they were written.  Circular reasoning is no proof at all.

There are many books written that also offer both external and internal evidences that the scriptures of Yahweh are inspired, and are from the Holy Spirit, and that we can rely upon them.  You can find them at Apologeticspress.org, and at Americanvision.org just to name two sources.  It just takes a little research to know the Bible is truly God’s inspired word, and is His only inspired word.

The one true God is Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David; who sent his uniquely begotten son, Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ to save mankind from our own sins.  It is only through Christ that we can find our way back to our Heavenly Father.

“…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. 

Allah is a fabrication of a deluded man, and the worship thereof is idolatry.  All people forced under threat, duress, and coercion to worship this idol must be freed so they can study and choose for themselves who they will serve.
