Is Donald Trump the Antichrist?

“Let no one in any way deceive you, for [the return of Jesus to the earth] will not come unless the apostasy (the quitting of many who once served God) comes first, and the man of lawlessness (Antichrist) is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple as being God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

IS DONALD TRUMP THE ANTICHRIST?

Love him or hate him, Donald Trump in the news.

And in the news.

And in the news.

(What would the “news” do without him?)

And Donald Trump can definitely be pompous (“characterized by an ostentatious display of dignity or importance”).

And Donald Trump can also be bombastic (“high-sounding; high-flown; inflated; pretentious”).

He can be arrogant, too, and rude.

And he’s uniquely the king of the lambast (“to beat or whip severely” with words in this case).

But do these things (pompousness, bombasms, arrogance, rudeness, lambasting) necessarily qualify Donald Trump to be Antichrist?

6 QUALIFICATIONS OF ANTICHRIST

The Bible speaks of six qualifications of Antichrist (there are more) and let’s just see if Donald Trump has any of these.

In His commentary on the book of Revelation, H. A. Ironside offers…

QUALIFICATION 1: Antichrist must be a Jew. (Ezekiel 21:25-27; Matthew 12:43-45)

QUALIFICATION 2: Antichrist must rise from the land of Palestine (sometimes used interchangeably with Israel).

QUALIFICATION 3: Antichrist must be subject to and in league with civil power (has to do with relationship to politics and governmental authority). (Daniel 7:24; Revelation 19:19)

QUALIFICATION 4: Antichrist is to be acknowledged by the mass of the Jews as their king and religious leader. (John 5:43; Daniel 11:36; 2 Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 13:8)

QUALIFICATION 5: Antichrist is to be the patron (supporter) of Israel. (Daniel 9:27a)

QUALIFICATION 6: Antichrist is not to be revealed until after the hindering Holy Spirit is removed. (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

DOES DONALD TRUMP HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF ANTICHRIST?

And so as you can see, Donald Trump DOES NOT have the qualifications to be the Antichrist.

(Is that a sigh of relief that I sense for some?)
