The Book of Enoch - Fable or Truth

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

There are many bits and pieces, many supposed parts and chapters that comprise the Book of Enoch that is passing around today.  The most used appear to be based upon the translations of the Ethiopic Book of Enoch found at the S.O.A.S. (School of Oriental and African Studies) Library at the University of London, printed and published by Oxford University Press.

That is the same Oxford University Press that published the Scofield Reference Bible which is nothing more than propaganda used to generate the support for the Zionist and Jesuit dream “state of Israel” which they created in 1948.  (Click more stories above to see previous post for Part VI of It’s Not The End of The World.)

We must consider the source of the information.  The source of the published Book of Enoch is suspect.

Oxford University Press is a department, a corporation, run by the owners of Oxford University, and is the largest university press in the world.  It is used to further their objectives.  In their words, from their website,

“As a department of the University of Oxford our worldwide publishing furthers the University’s objectives of excellence in scholarship, research, and education. Our main criteria when evaluating a new title for publication are its quality and whether it supports those aims of furthering education and disseminating knowledge.”

Whose knowledge are they disseminating?  Whose criteria are they using to disseminate this excellent knowledge?  The University of Oxford is known to be a communist think tank, and the center of propaganda for the New World Order (NWO).

The university at Oxford began in the 12th and 13th centuries around the leaders and bishops of the Church of England, as that was the church that supported the centers of “knowledge” and lectured before the printing press was available.  In 1854, an act was passed which allowed others who were not members of the Church of England to study at Oxford.

In 1902, Cecil Rhodes left a great deal of money to Oxford to allow for scholarships for students from the United States, Germany, and colonies of England.  (Oxford History)  Cecil Rhodes financial empire was underwritten by the Rothschilds, and one of his intents for the use of the scholarship was to indoctrinate the students with the political agenda of returning the American colonies to the British empire. (Rhodes Scholars intent)  The scholarships were controlled by the Fabians, a socialist society which founded the leftist Labour Party in England in 1900.

Rhodes stated intention, “To and for the establishment, promotion and development of a Secret Society, the true aim and object whereof shall be for the extension of British rule throughout the world.”   His Round Table group was the source of the secret societies on the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg Group, the Club of Rome, and others with which we contend today for their New World Order, and one world government.  (Secret Societies of the Round Table)

Other information on the university indicates its recent leaning toward humanistic (Darwinian) teachings, and Catholicism in the 19th and 20th centuries.  “From 1833 onwards The Oxford Movement sought to revitalise the Catholic aspects of the Anglican Church.”   (Intro & History Oxford)

So, when you see a book published by the Oxford University Press, you should begin by recognizing it is the propaganda center for the NWO, and that their publications will first and foremost be supporting and disseminating that propaganda.  Then ask what objective they may have for printing and publishing fables such as the Ethiopic Book of Enoch.

Matt. 13:27-28, “So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?  28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?” (KJV)

Satan uses lies to deceive the people and turn them away from God.

Jude 1:14-15, “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” (KJV)

Jude does not say “from the book of Enoch”, nor does he say “it is written”.  He certainly doesn’t say, “The Ethiopic Book of Enoch”.   In Jude, the Holy Spirit restates a prophesy which Enoch spoke, and which may have been common knowledge among the Jews.  Jude confirms the first century prophesy of the judgment that was coming upon the wicked who crucified Christ and were persecuting His church.

We can conclude from this scripture that Enoch was a prophet of God, and spoke prophesy to the people.  But, we cannot conclude from this scripture that there was ever a book of Enoch.

It seems foolish indeed to suppose that a book written by a man who existed before the flood, before the Hebrew language come into being, somehow survived the flood, and bits and pieces were translated into the Hebrew language and were subsequently found among other apocrypha of Jewish writings in Qumran in or about 1948.

The point of Jude’s mention of Enoch’s prophesy was that the coming of the Messiah and a then future destruction of ungodly men was known before the flood.

The book is considered to be pseudepigrapha –  which means :

1: plural   : APOCRYPHA

2 : any of various pseudonymous or anonymous Jewish religious writings of the period 200 B.C. to A.D. 200;  especially   : one of such writings (as the Psalms of Solomon) not included in any canon of biblical Scripture —  usually used in plural

In other words, it is recognized by scholars to be a FABLE!

The very beginning of the Book of Enoch contradicts God’s word.  If it is wrong from the beginning, then all of it must be considered to be erroneous.  It describes a supposed interaction with fallen angels mating with earthly women.  This is based upon a misreading or deliberate deception of Genesis chapter 6.  Let’s follow the logic of God’s word in Gen. 6:1-6 to show Satan’s deceit.

“1And it cometh to pass that mankind have begun to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters have been born to them,  and sons of God see the daughters of men that they [are] fair, and they take to themselves women of all whom they have chosen.

And Jehovah saith, `My Spirit doth not strive in man — to the age; in their erring they [are] flesh:’ and his days have been an hundred and twenty years.

The fallen ones were in the earth in those days, and even afterwards when sons of God come in unto daughters of men, and they have borne to them — they [are] the heroes, who, from of old, [are] the men of name.

And Jehovah seeth that abundant [is] the wickedness of man in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil all the day;  and Jehovah repenteth that He hath made man in the earth, and He grieveth Himself — unto His heart. (Young’s Literal Translation, or YLT)

or -

1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (KJV)

The subject matter of Genesis 6 is in verse 1, identified as “mankind” or “men”.  The next phrase to note is “sons of God”.  Many people have been persuaded to believe the phrase “sons of God” must refer to angels.  That is false, and a misreading of the text.  Please see my previous post “Nephilim Reprise..And The Sons of God” for a full explanation of why these are the righteous men who followed after God.

Moreover, chapter 6 opens after the discussion in chapter 5 of the genealogy of the faithful line from Adam to Noah.  Those faithful were the sons of God of verse 1 in chapter 6.  Verse 1 establishes the subject matter as mankind, or men.  Of that class of mankind spoken of in the verse there are sons of God, the faithful, and the daughters of men.

Verse 3 of the scripture confirms again the subject matter is man and their erring flesh.  As mankind has born children of their wives, the daughters of men, they have become wicked, so that God sets a limit upon how long he is going to strive with them: one hundred and twenty years.

Verse 4 establishes the “fallen-ones” or the “giants” as the same men.  The NIV and other translations lift the Hebrew word “nephilim” straight into the English, which is a deliberate attempt to sensationalize the scriptures.  Nephilim means earth-born men who fell away from God.  The King James translated it as “giants” which Clarke’s Commentary identifies as seven different Hebrew words all meaning men of renown, of the name, known for great deeds.  It didn’t mean of great physical height.  The word giants as used in the KJV is misleading.

But, what is critical in verse 4 is that the fallen-ones already existed before the sons of God (faithful) went in unto the daughters of men (unfaithful) to beget children of them.  They were not a result of the mating between the sons and daughters.  And, the fallen-ones (nephilim) cannot be considered the same as the sons of God in the same verse, else the same Hebrew word would have been used again in verse 4.  Fallen-ones, nephilim, are not sons of God, or verse 4 would have said “sons of God” in both places within verse 4.

Verses 5 and 6 provide the reason that God was  going to destroy the wicked; that by marrying and taking wives indiscriminately from the pretty daughters of wicked and evil fallen men, that evil had overcome all righteous sons of God, and pervaded the entire earth.

Gen 6:1-6 is an explanation offered by God as the reason why he caused the flood to come upon the earth, to wipe out and destroy the wicked, evil men.  It is not a description of angels fornicating with women, nor of a science fiction hybridization worthy of a Hollywood script.

We can conclude from the progression of the use of logic that the Book of Enoch is a fable, and is not in any way supportive of God’s word, nor to be used as an adjunct to God’s word for additional study or secretive information.

I Cor. 15:39-40, “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.  40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.”

Genesis establishes what science teaches today, that species bear and propagate after their kind.  Elephants do not begat lions.  Chimpanzees do not begat ostriches.  Women do not begat hybrids of fallen angels.  Click on more stories to see further evidences presented at the previous posts for Nephilim, and Nephilim Reprise….

“In Jude, the Holy Spirit restates a prophesy which Enoch spoke…”

This assertion contradicts the fact that authors of Scripture habitually quoted other authors of Scripture. Moreover, the assertion is not supported by anything but opinion.

“It seems foolish indeed to suppose that a book written by a man who existed before the flood, before the Hebrew language come into being, somehow survived the flood, and bits and pieces were translated into the Hebrew language and were subsequently found among other apocrypha of Jewish writings in Qumran in or about 1948.”

What would be foolish is not applying the exact same means of scrutiny to the Book of Enoch as we do to all other Books of Scripture. There is no reason not to be consistent in this case.

“The book is considered to be pseudepigrapha…”

What matters is how the Ancient Israelites were disposed toward this Book and how we are disposed toward it. Everything else is superfluous – most notably what ‘scholars’ think or don’t.

“The very beginning of the Book of Enoch contradicts God’s word. If it is wrong from the beginning, then all of it must be considered to be erroneous. It describes a supposed interaction with fallen angels mating with earthly women.”

Thus, your mind was made up even before you began your examination. That is a recipe for unsound judgment in all cases.

If you’re interested in a non-religiously-biased version of the Book of Enoch as translated from the Hebrew documents recovered in Qumran, you would do well to explore the work recently completed and released by George Nickelsburg and James VanderKam:

VanderKam is arguably the world’s leading expert on ancient language Qumran Library documents and fragments.

You must consider that the overall objective of Enoch is contrary to the Bible. I do not consider the Book of Enoch to be Scripture, as it does not agree with the Bible. I know it is based upon a belief system of a future coming of a Chosen One (which many are fooled into believing is meant to be Christ), a future end of the world scenario, and a future temple at Jerusalem. All of which is desired and contrived by those NWO agents calling themselves Zionists, who are aided by the Jesuits and the international money changers.

Their end world view, and a 3rd period of revival of Jewish / Israeli government rule is not scriptural. I have addressed this misconception held by many who have been fooled by this futurist view in previous posts. If you would like to see what the Bible really says, then please begin reading Part I of It’s Not The End of The World, and continue through Part X which I have posted previously under more stories.

A careful study of the scriptures shows that Christ was the Messiah, that he was manifested during the last days in the first century A.D., that the judgment prophesied by Daniel and Isaiah and Jeremiah and Ezekiel was that judgment which came upon the apostate Jews of the first century A.D. Therefore, a book which outlines a different coming of its so-called “Chosen One” denies that Christ came when He said He would, and is a lie.

The Bible teaches that Christ said all things would be fulfilled in that generation in which He appeared and was manifested; that the last days were always the last days of the old covenant with fleshly Israel, and the old temple of the Mosaic sacrificial system. The last days were always the days in which the scepter would be removed from Judah and given unto Christ (Gen. 49:10).

We are not looking for any future judgment end of the world scenario, and the Bible doesn’t teach it. So, the futurist view point is wrong, and the Book of Enoch was written by those who desire a future Israel to take over the world. The mystic sensationalist tale of fallen angels mating with earthly women is a lie. The book of Enoch is a lie from beginning to end. Even if you believe that it is based upon Jewish writings, still consider the source, the apostate Jews who were judged by Christ at His second coming in A.D. 70 for crucifying Him and persecuting His church.

The authors try to say that portions of the book of Enoch parallel certain scriptures, but any parallel is because it was written deliberately to appear so. It is not scriptural, and cannot be considered as any source of truth. You might find it easier to read my previous posts at http://www.shreddingtheveil.org.

“You must consider that the overall objective of Enoch is contrary to the Bible.”

If that were true, then there would be nothing for us to debate. But I find the opposite to be true. I find that nothing in Enoch countermands or contradicts the biblical narrative of salvation. Were I to find even a single point in Enoch which contradicted the Bible, I would stand as you do.

“…desired and contrived by those NWO agents calling themselves Zionists, who are aided by the Jesuits and the international money changers.”

I would ask you to recall the antiquity of the Qumran Library.

“If you would like to see what the Bible really says…”

You don’t truly presume to believe I need you for that, do you? For your sake, I hope not.

“A careful study of the scriptures shows that Christ was the Messiah…”

          Agreed.

“…that the judgment prophesied by Daniel and Isaiah and Jeremiah and Ezekiel was that judgment which came upon the apostate Jews of the first century A.D.”

I am not now, now will I ever be, a man who believes as you do – that Old and New Testament prophecy has been utterly fulfilled and will find no future fulfilment in the days yet to come.

“Therefore, a book which outlines a different coming of its so-called “Chosen One” denies that Christ came when He said He would, and is a lie.”

Enoch does not deny that Christ would come when the Bible says He came.

“The Bible teaches that Christ said all things would be fulfilled in that generation in which He appeared and was manifested…”

That is an erroneous understanding of what the Word of God teaches, as is much of your understanding of prophecy.

“We are not looking for any future judgment end of the world scenario, and the Bible doesn’t teach it.”

You are reckless in your presumptions. Unless you are specifically speaking for you and for someone else, then you should not have prefaced the above sentence with the word ‘we.’ I do look for exactly what you tell me the Bible does not teach. I look for it because I find that the Bible does teach it.

“So, the futurist view point is wrong…”

A conclusion you have not earned the right to adapt.

“…the Book of Enoch was written by those who desire a future Israel to take over the world.”

Israel will rule the world. (Please don’t mistake me for a pro-Jewish Zionist. I am anything but.)

“The mystic sensationalist tale of fallen angels mating with earthly women is a lie.”

Something mated with earthly women. Something other than the sons of men. The Bible is perfectly clear about that. If you insist that ‘Sons of God’ means sons of men, when the Bible in the same verse refers to daughters of men, then you owe an explanation for your unwillingness to hear what the Word of God plainly teaches. But you unsupportable conclusion is yours alone. I have rejected it in the past even as I reject it now.

“The book of Enoch is a lie from beginning to end.”

Yes, you have already shared your conclusion. What you have failed to do is to demonstrate even a single sound reason for having arrived at your conclusion.

“Even if you believe that it is based upon Jewish writings, still consider the source, the apostate Jews who were judged by Christ at His second coming in A.D. 70 for crucifying Him and persecuting His church.”

Again, I refer you to the Qumran Library, in the light of which your statements like the one above cannot stand. I would refer you to the facts alone, which are more than ample to destroy this portion of your argument.
