Why are you standing there gazing into heaven? Jesus is coming back—So Get Busy!

To my fellow brothers and sisters who adhere to the teachings of Christ, I extend these words to you.

We are cognizant of the imminent return of Jesus to Earth, having been apprised of these sublime revelations as recorded in the Bible. Moreover, a profound inner conviction resonates within us, affirming His imminent arrival. Many among us have even experienced dreams and received personal revelations that underscore this certainty. We bear witness to our own conviction that He is indeed coming for us, ensuring our rescue on that anticipated day, rather than our destruction.

While we eagerly await His return, it prompts us to ponder: What does He require of us in the present moment? How should we respond to this knowledge? What shall we be doing as we anticipate His imminent return?

Some individuals have opted to await the arrival of Christ by selling their assets and withdrawing to the hills. Is this a course of action that everyone should be considering? While we strongly sense that Christ’s return is imminent, the question remains: Is quitting our jobs or divesting ourselves of all possessions the right choice?

I, personally, have engaged in numerous prayerful conversations with God, with this very dilemma; “What shall we be doing while we wait?  I wish to share my reflections with you.

The well-being of our families and loved ones has always been a paramount concern in our mortal existence. The impending return of Christ does not alter this commitment or responsibility. Many depend on us for their financial care, and it is prudent to continue fulfilling that obligation by maintaining our employment and ensuring that we provide for them.

HOWEVER…It is time, right now, to evaluate our commitments in life.

As we wait, our foremost focus should be on leading a life that reflects the principles taught by Christ. It’s a moment for a shift in mindset regarding our daily routines. The emphasis is no longer on sacrificing time for material pursuits like acquiring a new boat or indulging in a dream vacation, for which we’ve toiled through dual jobs to obtain the necessary funds. Frankly, it’s time to prioritize God and family above the demands of our employers, who might be hindering meaningful moments with loved ones.

Awaiting Jesus involves actively working towards strengthening our faith, hope, and love. This includes serving others, delving into His teachings, supporting and encouraging others in their “waiting” journey, and heeding the guidance of the Spirit. 

Although we may feel ready, indicating our dedication to follow Christ, the current waiting period exposes us to attempts by Satan to sow seeds of discouragement. His aim is to create doubts about our beliefs. For the many times that we felt strongly that today was the day, which turned out not to be the case, Satan is sliding in with an attempt to challenge the very fact of Christ’s return.

In this waiting phase, it is crucial to actively absorb positive influences to counteract the adversary’s attempts. Our compassionate God has provided clear guidance on what we should be doing during this time, and these instructions have been conveyed to us through the words of the prophets, as captured in the following scripture:

Ephesians 6:11-18

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Can you see God’s wisdom in His direction towards answering the questions of waiting? 

Recognize that this brief time that we are required to wait consists of a personal battle with the adversary. Our primary objective is to “Endure to the end,” and do all that we can do to remail faithful. I have felt this in my own life: 

• Discouragement.

• Temptation. 

• Wanting it to happen today, not feeling like I have the strength to continue.

• Questioning my belief that He will come back soon.

• Questioning my strength in fighting the fight.

Can you relate to these feeling within your own life? I hope that you can, because to me, it suggests that Satan recognizes that I am on the side of God, and am a target of his. This reassures me that I am on the correct path, and that I am doing what my Father has asked me to do.

Recognize that you too are on God’s path. You are listening to His call, “Come Follow Me!” You are close to receiving the mansion that He has promised you, living with Him and surrounded by other loving people who share your belief and commitment to God.

Certainly, we must make efforts to warn others to His imminent return. We find ourselves in a time reminiscent of Noah’s days, where many turn a deaf ear to the call of salvation. But for You and Me…we must actively wait for His return by continuing to fight discouragement, and actively fill our minds with the continual learning of Jesus Christ and His atonement, spirit inviting music, and in serving others… This is how we wait!

Forget about the continual prediction dates of His return that are posted on social media. By doing this, it will ease your discouragement as another date slips by. You already know that the time is near.

Realize that you are at war with Satan because of your devotion to God. Secure additional “ammunition” by stocking up with “the word of God!” Stand strong in your believes, for this is your chance to show God that you are forever on His side. Christ died for me… and I will certainly Die for HIM if needed.

Trust Him! Trust Him! Trust Him! Trust Him! Trust Him! Trust Him! Trust Him!

Just like the Israelites following Moses, God will see us through our “Red Sea” as we ask for His guidance in dealing with the enemy.

The time is short and our testimonies burn strong. I pray for all of you reading this post that we can “wait” for His return in the way that He has asked us to do. Can you FEEL what I am saying is true? I sure can, and I know that I will be seeing all of you very soon, as we celebrate in the arms of our brother, Jesus Christ, together, united in harmony and peace…. F.O.R.E.V.E.R!
