Official Resigns after Nazi Salute - Marcia Radosevich

When a government official is called a Nazi, does this help bring government abuse of power to light, or does it trivialize the Holocaust? Allow me to introduce to you Marcia Radosevich, formerly of the Wellington Planning, Zoning and Adjustment board in Florida… here she is channeling her inner Nazi:

That incident occurred March 5th, during a discussion over appointing a person to handle development review matters.

it took her 20 days to offer her official apology to the board as well as her resignation. After accepting her resignation the local Chamber of Commerce revoked her membership. A historic move for Wellington since this is the first time they’ve ever revoked membership..

Radosevich, a 61-year old has a doctorate in sociology, and is a multimillionaire business owner.

She was appointed to citizen advisory board by Councilman Matt Willhite. He told the press he believes emotions got the better of her during difficult negotiations. Tim Stillings, the planning and development services director in the village, was the target of the fascist salute.

The incident occurred during a discussion over whether or not to allow staff members greater discretion in considering project applications. The two officials disagreed over whether or not the change concentrated power in the hands of one person. Radosevich then offered the Nazi salute to Stillings.

Stillings answered by saying, “Wow. Wow. That might be a bit over the top, I think.” (1)

She did offer a brief apology to Stillings, before attempting to move onto other business.

If she had not resigned her post, there would have been no legal means for the board to remove her before her two-year term expired in May.

Durring the tearful apology to the board, in her first public remarks since the incident, she told members her grandfather was sent to a Nazi concentration camp. She also stated several people in her family fought in Europe during the Second World War.

Gossip Extra reports that Radosevich has just listed her house for sale, with an asking price of 11 million dollars. This could mean she is planning on leaving the area to move where no one recognizes her for her Nazi Salute.
