AppCopter the iPhone or iPod Touch Remote Control Helicopter
Whenever you watch the iPhone advertisement on television, Apple always claim the app store has apps for everything and if you do not have an iPhone, well then you don’t have an iPhone. In other words you are missing out on a lot. The Apple app store is fabulous and there are a lot of wonderful apps. One of those apps is the Appcopter.
The Appcopter turns the iPhone and iPod Touch into a remote control you use to fly a helicopter. I came across appcopter while shopping in Marks and Spencer recently and I thought it would make a great gadgetry gift for Christmas. The gadget is by a company called Apptoyz.
Appcopter comes with a unique ergonomic peripheral that you connect to an iPhone or iPod Touch and turns it into an intuitive remote control. But first you have to download the app. The app is free to download from the Apple app store. Using the built in accelerometer you fly the helicopter using the tilt function. It has 8 metre flying range, an integral speaker and amplifier for sound effects within the app. As for the peripheral unit, you can charge it using a USB charger.
The Appcopter is priced at £50 if you buy it from Marks and Spencer but you can also buy it from Amazon store or other online store. The cheapest I have seen online is £39 from iWOOT with free delivery.

There’s been several comments from users in the Apple app store on sound effect not being real or there’s no sound when flying the helicopter. Some users had trouble learning control the helicopter using the accelerometer. There’s no mention how long the power in the peripheral unit will last before a recharge. Overall I think it will make a great gadgetry gift for Christmas.
