The Hawaiian Island Chain Provides Proof of a 60 Degree Earth Crust Shift 65 Million Years Ago

The Hawaiian-Emperor Chain provides proof of an earth crust shift that coincides with the K/T impact event 65 million years ago that also caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. The Hawaiian Island chain makes a 60 degree bend where it becomes the Emperor sea mount chain.

In 1963 J. Tuzo Wilson, a Canadian geophysicist, proposed the “Hot Spot” hypothesis that has become widely accepted. According to Wilson, the linear shape of the Hawaiian-Emperor Chain reflects the progressive movement of the Pacific Plate over a deep immobile hot spot. Over millions of years, the combined processes of movement of the Pacific Plate over the stationary hot spot have left the trail we now call the Hawaiian-Emperor Chain.

I measured the distance from the “Hot Spot” (19.5 North – 156.5 West) to the center of the bend and got 1740 nautical miles. A nautical mile is 2,000 yards or 72,000 inches. So, 1740 nautical miles is 3,480,000 yards and 125,280,000 inches. So if the Pacific Plate movement averaged 1.92 inches per year the length of the Hawaiian Chain to the bend where the Emperor Chain starts it would equal  65 million years. This coincides with the K/T impact event and the extinction of the dinosaurs.

The K/T impact provides the explanation for the 60 degree bend in the chain. When I first thought about this I expected a break in the chain and a continuation at a different latitude. However, the chain bends in a continuous linear fashion without breaking. The only explanation would be if the K/T impact event was one forth the earth’s circumference away from the point where the chain bends. As it turns out, the Chicxulub crater that is widely acknowledged as the K/T impact crater is almost one quarter the earth’s circumference away. This allows for the “Hot Spot” to act as a pivot point for the crustal shift and the smooth linear bend in the chain.

Due to the shape of the earth a 60 degree bend of the Hawaiian-Emperor Chain would equal a 30 degree shift at the poles. Using the Hawaiian-Emperor bend as a pivot, and the longitude of the Chicxulub Crater as a guide, the North Pole prior to the impact would have been in what is now the Hudson Bay in Canada and Antarctica would have been 30 degrees to the North in a more temperate climate as the evidence suggest.
