They are neat to watch. I watched a guy land in a park in one once. There was a Frisbee tournament and somehow a Frisbee came in just above his head. Instinctively the pilot jumped up to grab the Frisbee with his right hand that was a bad idea.

Flying Tricycle my derriere. It’s called either a Autogyro copter, or Autogyro, or gyrocopter.
Old technology been around a long time.
They use it a lot in Australia to heard cattle. very efficient and safe. it will auto-rotate if engine fails and land like helicopter. And very short even vertical take-off by using clutch for top rotor.
Designed build and flew mine,(Sky Cobra)was going to go into Production in 1986 but the crash of the market bankrupted my Sponsors. They are Limited,Power hungry 5Gal @hour,and there is very little training available.In the U.S. some fall under the Ultralight Classification because they are called an Aircraft where as in Canada an Ultralight is an Aeroplane and therefore the Gyro because of his Rotorblade does not meet the Criteria of “Fixed Wing Aeroplane.
So to fly one in Canada it has to be Homebuild only(No complete Kit),and since there are no Certified Gyroplanes from the early 1930-’s around,technically you are on your Own as far as training is concerned.You are not allowed to train someone in a two seat Homebuild Gyro.
I went to federal Court over this very unsafe Regulation and lost, saying that there is no demand and therefore its the least of priority of the Department to even consider making
an Ultralight category where training can be done in an uncertified Aircraft
