Sprint powers its 4G LTE network with new broadband devices
Sprint has announced that it’s going to launch new broadband devices that will help its 4G LTE network to have a wider range of accessing capabilities by operating on Sprint’s 1.9GHz and 800MHz spectrums along with the new addition of 2.5GHz spectrum owned by Clearwire. Sprint has also revealed that it will release tri-band supported Samsung and LG networks by the end of this year.
The MiFi 500 LTE of Novatel Wireless, the NETGEAR ZING Mobile Hotspot and the NETGEAR 341U USB modem are the devices that will be released by Sprint, most probably at the end of this year.
Earlier the 800MHz was used for the Nextel iDEN network. But according to sources, it will be closed by June 30. Its high speed wireless connection will now be utilized for the running of the LTE network. And with Clearwire’s additional 2.5GHz spectrum also adding to the existing Sprint’s own 1.9GHz, it will certainly uplift the performance of the network which now boasts of having a strong presence in a total of 88 markets across the globe.
