Sony VAIO Fit flips to be used as a tablet or a laptop

Sony Philippines just introduced their VAIO Fit laptop which features a multi-flip hinge that makes it capable of converting into a tablet when you’re done using it as a laptop.

We’ve seen this type of laptop before in the form of the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga and the application is almost similar, but instead of flipping it form the hinge, its lid has its own hinge so you can fold the display outward and snap it back to the body to enter tablet mode. This ensures that the underside of the laptop stays under even in tablet mode instead of the keyboard facing down.

Like all Sony laptops, the VAIO Fit has that premium-look with its aluminum chassis with a hairline finish. The hinge on the lid itself adds style points to this laptop. It comes in 13-inch and 15-inch models, yeah… think of a 15-inch tablet where you can sketch and draw using the included Sony digitizer stylus.

Aside from tablet mode and laptop mode, you can also use the VAIO Fit in Viewer mode where the TRILUMINOS display is facing outward which is suitable for watching videos. To go with the gorgeous display is the ClearAudio+ technology which automatically adjusts the sound profile depending on what genre of music you are playing or whether you’re watching a film.

Powering the VAIO Fit is a 4th gen Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. The 13-inch has 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD with a complement of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a card reader to keep things thin and simple. There’s also the Exmor R web camera and the 13-inch model has another camera on its underside so you can use it when in tablet mode. It uses a full pitch backlit keyboard as well.

The Sony VAIO Fit 13A has a Core i5 configuration (black and silver) and retails for Php69,999, while the Core i7 model (black only) goes for Php89,999. The VAIO Fit 15A (black only) on the other hand runs on Core i7 and retails for Php79,999.
